Add the Median connector in Claude

Open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector. Paste the server URL below, choose Add, then Connect and authorize your Median account.

The OAuth connection is read-only, scoped to your authorized Median company, and checked against your account permissions on each request.

After adding the URL, choose Connect and sign in to Median to approve access. Claude remote connectors are available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Team and Enterprise workspaces may require an owner to add the connector first.

The MCP server is included in what you pay for the books.

There is no separate add-on for the Claude connection. Median does the bookkeeping, and the MCP server, reports, and answers come with it. Under $1M in annual revenue you pay one flat monthly fee set by your revenue band: $200 / mo under $250K and $500 / mo from $250K to $1M, with no seat fees. Over $1M we scope the fee to the work your books take, on a call.

Can Claude read my QuickBooks or accounting data?

Median provides a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets Claude read financial data available to your Median account. It reads your Median books, not your QuickBooks account directly. After your books are onboarded and data access is enabled, Claude can query authorized financial data and reports. Connector access is read-only.

Is the Median MCP server read-only?

Yes. The Claude connector uses OAuth for company-scoped, read-only access based on the signed-in user's Median permissions, which are checked on each request. It cannot post, edit, or delete entries, move money, or change settings. Forecast sandbox tools are not available through this Claude connection.

How do I connect Median to Claude?

In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector. Enter https://api.medianfi.com/api/v1/mcp, choose Add, then Connect and complete OAuth sign-in to Median. Access is scoped to the company and data your signed-in Median account can access. Claude remote connectors are available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.

What can I ask Claude about my finances?

Ask Claude to list transactions for a date range, compare P&L periods, retrieve a balance sheet or cash flow statement, view general-ledger activity, or check A/R and A/P aging. The exact data available depends on your Median account permissions and onboarding status.
