  • How to compare immigration legal providers: Start with the DOJ registers this site draws from. Check the provider type, then compare the fee level, languages and case types the source states, and ask each provider about the rest.
  • Immigration legal help in the United States: Only a licensed lawyer or a DOJ-accredited representative working for a DOJ-recognized organization may give you immigration legal advice. The DOJ publishes two free registers this site draws from.

Questions

Who is listed on ImmigrationHelp?

Only providers the US Department of Justice authorizes to give immigration legal help: DOJ-recognized organizations, DOJ-accredited representatives and the EOIR List of Pro Bono Legal Service Providers. We never list notarios or unlicensed consultants.

Is ImmigrationHelp a law firm? Is it legal advice?

No. ImmigrationHelp is a directory. It is not a law firm, nothing on it is legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. A listing is not a recommendation.

How do I avoid immigration fraud?

In the United States a notario or immigration consultant is not a lawyer and cannot represent you. Be careful of anyone who promises a result, asks for cash without a receipt, or asks you to sign a blank form. Check the free fraud-warning checklist on ImmigrationHelp, and confirm a provider is on the DOJ roster before you pay.

How do I report a mistake?

Write to hello@immigrationhelp.fyi with the listing name, the city and what is wrong. An editor checks it against the source and corrects the listing.

Not legal advice. ImmigrationHelp is a directory, not a law firm. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. A listing is not a recommendation. Every provider listed is authorized by the US Department of Justice as shown in the source named on each listing; confirm details with the provider before you share information or pay. Beware of immigration fraud: a 'notario' or immigration consultant is not a lawyer and cannot represent you. To report a mistake, write to hello@immigrationhelp.fyi.
