What Is the MultiLipi MCP Server?
The bridge between your AI tools and your localization environment.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI applications to securely interact with external tools, services, and data sources. MultiLipi uses MCP to connect your website translation and localization environment with compatible AI assistants.
Instead of manually navigating your MultiLipi dashboard for every task, you can ask a connected AI assistant — such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf — to work with your projects using simple natural-language instructions.

MCP eliminates the manual dashboard loop. Instead of logging in, navigating menus, and copying data, you simply ask your AI — and it executes the operation directly against your live MultiLipi account. The available operations depend on the tools exposed by the MultiLipi MCP Server and the permissions granted to your connected client.
What's New in the Updated MultiLipi MCP Connection?
Simpler, more secure, and more accessible.
MultiLipi has upgraded its MCP connection process. Previously, connecting an AI agent required generating an authentication token and using command-based or JSON configurations. With the updated system, MultiLipi uses a hosted MCP endpoint and browser-based OAuth authorization — making setup faster and more secure.
Previous method discontinued: The "Generate Auth Token" button, STDIO run command (npx -y @multilipi/mcp), and local MCP package configuration are no longer required for supported remote MCP clients. Use the new hosted endpoint and OAuth flow described below.
1
🔑 No Manual Authentication Token Generation
You no longer need to click "Generate Auth Token" or copy authentication credentials into your MCP client. OAuth handles authentication through your browser.
2
☁️ Hosted MCP Server
MultiLipi provides a ready-to-use remote MCP endpoint. Compatible AI applications connect directly to the hosted service — no local server to run.
3
🔒 Browser-Based OAuth Authentication
Authentication takes place through the official MultiLipi Dashboard. You sign in normally and approve access through your browser — your credentials stay secure.
4
⚡ Streamable HTTP Connection
The updated server uses the Streamable HTTP transport supported by modern MCP-compatible clients for fast, reliable communication.
5
📋 Simplified Configuration
Instead of managing auth commands or credentials, connect using the single MCP endpoint or the JSON configuration snippet from your dashboard.
6
📚 Dedicated Setup Guidance
The Connect MCP dashboard includes instructions for AI agents, application-specific guidance, system prompt templates, and reference commands.
Step-by-Step Guide: Connect MultiLipi MCP to Your AI Agent
Seven steps from login to your first AI-powered localization command.
1
Step 1: Log In to Your MultiLipi Dashboard
Visit dashboard.multilipi.com and sign in using your registered account.
Once logged in, navigate to the left-hand sidebar and select Connect MCP. This opens the dedicated MCP integration workspace where you can access the hosted endpoint, connection configuration, and setup guidance.
2
Step 2: Open the "For AI Agents" Section
On the Connect MCP page, you will find two primary tabs:
🤖 FOR AI AGENTS
Provides the hosted MCP endpoint and remote HTTP configuration for compatible AI clients.
👤 FOR HUMANS
Provides user-friendly, application-specific connection guidance for desktop environments.
Select For AI Agents to access the direct agent configuration. The page displays the hosted connection method, including the MCP endpoint and configuration details.

3
Step 3: Copy the Hosted MCP Endpoint
Inside the Direct Agent Configuration section, locate the MCP Endpoint field. MultiLipi provides the following hosted endpoint:
https://dashboard-mcp.multilipi.com/mcp
Click the Copy button next to the endpoint to copy the URL. Unlike the previous connection method, you do not need to generate an authentication token or provide an API key — this endpoint is sufficient to begin the OAuth authorization process.
4
Step 4: Configure the MCP Connection in Your AI Client
Open the AI application where you want to use MultiLipi and locate its MCP server or connector settings. The general setup process is:
1
Open the application's MCP connection settings.
2
Select the option to add a new MCP server or custom connector.
3
Enter a recognizable name, such as MultiLipi.
4
Choose HTTP, Streamable HTTP, or the application's supported remote MCP connection option.
5
Paste the MultiLipi MCP endpoint and save or initiate the connection.
For clients that accept an MCP JSON configuration, use the following structure:
{
"mcpServers": {
"multilipi-mcp": {
"url": "https://dashboard-mcp.multilipi.com/mcp"
}
}
}
⚠️ Important: JSON configuration format and remote MCP capabilities may vary between AI applications. Use your client's supported format and refer to its latest MCP documentation when necessary.
5
Step 5: Complete OAuth Authentication
After adding the MultiLipi endpoint, an OAuth-compatible MCP client will initiate the authorization process. Your AI application should open a browser window or direct you to the MultiLipi authorization page at:
dashboard.multilipi.com
Open the authorization page provided by your MCP client.
Sign in to your MultiLipi account if you are not already logged in.
Review the access requested by the connecting application.
Approve the authorization request if you trust the application and agree to the permissions.
Return to your AI application to complete the connection process.
🔒 Security Note: Never paste your MultiLipi account password, session credentials, or any authentication tokens into an AI application's MCP configuration field. Authentication should always happen through the official browser-based OAuth flow.
6
Step 6: Verify Your Connection
After successful authentication, return to your AI client and confirm the MultiLipi MCP server is connected. Depending on the client, you may see the connection listed as active or be able to view the tools exposed by the MultiLipi server.
You can also check the Hosted MCP Connection panel in your MultiLipi dashboard. When the service is available, it displays:
MCP Server Operational
This indicates the hosted MCP service is running. It does not, by itself, confirm that your individual AI client has completed OAuth authorization — verify the connection status in your AI application separately.

Localization Workflow
Understanding OAuth Security in MultiLipi MCP
How OAuth keeps your account credentials safe.
The updated OAuth connection improves credential handling by separating account authentication from the AI application's configuration. Your credentials never pass through a third-party MCP client.
Authentication Through the Official Dashboard
You authenticate using the MultiLipi authorization flow instead of sharing credentials directly with an MCP client.
Explicit Access Approval
The OAuth process allows you to review and approve the access requested by the connecting application before it is granted.
No Password Sharing
Your AI client does not require your MultiLipi dashboard password to be pasted into a configuration file or chat message.
Authorization-Based Access
The connected application receives authorized access through OAuth rather than a manually distributed long-lived token.
⚠️ Reminder: As with any third-party integration, only connect applications you trust and review the permissions they request before approving.
