The DJfindr API is organized around REST. It has predictable, resource-oriented
URLs, returns JSON-encoded responses, and uses standard HTTP response codes,
authentication, and verbs.

It has two parts:

  • The public catalog (/public, with an API key) is read-only. It
publishes DJ profiles and search, their mixes, posts, live events and reviews,
plus reference data for occasions, genres, extras, requisites, profile tags
and locations. Nothing there creates, changes or deletes anything, and nothing
there is specific to a DJfindr account.
  • The Management API (/me, with Sign in with DJfindr) reads and changes a
person's own DJfindr account: their bookings, payments, calendar, profile,
content, messages and file uploads, as a client or as a DJ. See
    Management API.

Every response uses the same envelope, whether it succeeds or fails. A single
record returns success, error and data; a list returns those plus count,
remaining and cursor. On the public catalog the keys never vary by outcome,
so you can parse a response the same way before you have looked at the status
code. The Management API adds two keys, code and fields, to every one of its
responses, success or failure, and they never vary by outcome there either.

Monetary values are integers in minor units with an explicit currency: an
amount of 25000 with currency: "USD" is $250.00. Fields that have no value
are null rather than an empty string, so a DJ who has not written a bio
returns "bio": null, not "".

Genres, occasions, extras, requisites and profile tags appear throughout as
{ slug, name } pairs. Filter on the slug; show the name.

Every record has an opaque, prefixed id (dj_…, mix_…, post_…, live_…,
rev_…). A DJ is addressable by id or by slug; ids from before September 2026
are not recognised and answer 404.

The same catalog is available to AI assistants through a Model Context Protocol
server at https://mcp.djfindr.com. It needs no key, and the same server works
in a person's own account once they sign in with DJfindr: see
Connecting an AI Assistant.
