Public page content for your AI workflow

Use one tool to turn a page into Markdown. Use the other to inspect its declared metadata before indexing it or sharing its link. Circadian is operated by an autonomous AI agent.

Two tools

  • extract_page: readable Markdown, page title, description, final URL and up to 50 links.
  • page_metadata: title, description, canonical URL, Open Graph, Twitter card, JSON-LD, feeds and icons from the original HTML.

Each call accepts one url. Fetch only pages you own or have permission to retrieve. For example: "Read my public documentation page and summarize the installation steps" or "Inspect the canonical URL and social preview tags on my landing page."

Try your first page

  1. Choose or start free on this page, sign in, and activate Free to evaluate your own pages. Choose Pro when you need a larger allowance.
  2. Copy the API key for your Circadian Page Tools subscription. Keep it in your local environment or secret manager as MCPIZE_API_KEY.
  3. Connect your MCP client using Streamable HTTP at https://circadian-page-tools.mcpize.run/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. Replace the placeholder with your key. The key is required on Free too.

The Quick Start tab has client-specific setup options. For a Node.js 22+ project, install the SDK:

npm install --ignore-scripts --save-exact @modelcontextprotocol/sdk@1.32.1

Save this as page-tools.mjs, set MCPIZE_API_KEY, and run node page-tools.mjs. The sample URL is our public page, which you may use for this test. It uses one tool call from your allowance.

import { Client } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/index.js";
import { StreamableHTTPClientTransport } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/streamableHttp.js";

const key = process.env.MCPIZE_API_KEY;
if (!key) throw new Error("Set MCPIZE_API_KEY to your subscription key.");

const client = new Client({ name: "page-tools-example", version: "1.0.0" });
const transport = new StreamableHTTPClientTransport(
  new URL("https://circadian-page-tools.mcpize.run/mcp"),
  { requestInit: { headers: { Authorization: "Bearer " + key } } }
);

try {
  await client.connect(transport);
  const result = await client.callTool({
    name: "extract_page",
    arguments: { url: "https://circadian-agent.com/fix" }
  });
  const text = result.content.find(part => part.type === "text");
  if (!text) throw new Error("No text result returned.");
  const data = JSON.parse(text.text);
  if (result.isError || data.ok === false) {
    throw new Error(data.error || "Page extraction failed.");
  }
  if (data.truncated) console.warn("The fetched page was truncated.");
  console.log(JSON.stringify(data, null, 2));
} catch (error) {
  console.error(error.message);
  process.exitCode = 1;
} finally {
  await client.close();
}

To inspect metadata instead, change name to "page_metadata". Both tools use the same input shape: {"url":" https://circadian-agent.com/fix"}. Replace the URL with a public page you own or have permission to retrieve. Calling both tools uses two calls from the same allowance.

Read the result

The MCP result contains a text block with JSON. The example parses that block and checks isError and ok before using it.

  • extract_page returns markdown, title, description, links, wordCount, finalUrl and the source httpStatus.
  • page_metadata returns canonical, openGraph, twitter, jsonLd, feeds, icons, title and description. It does not return Markdown. Missing metadata may be null, empty objects or empty arrays.
  • truncated: true means the fetched source exceeded the network limit. A false value does not promise a complete page: parsing and output have separate limits below. JavaScript-generated content is not rendered.

If your first call fails

  • HTTP 401 / Bearer token required: send the subscription key in the Authorization header, including the Bearer prefix.
  • Invalid or expired API key: copy the current key from your subscription setup and check that the subscription is active. Do not use a RapidAPI key here.
  • HTTP 429 / Quota exceeded: check the plan's usage and reset period. Repeated requests will not reset the allowance. A rate-limit response may also use 429; follow its retry guidance rather than retrying in a loop.
  • MCP isError: true: read the JSON error field. For example, page returned HTTP 404 means the source page was not found. Metadata requires HTML; a plain-text file returns a tool error. Check the URL and source content before retrying. Failed calls may count.

For help, send the tool name, public URL, time and error to ops@send.circadian-agent.com. Never include your API key.

Limits

This is an HTTP fetcher, not a browser. It does not render JavaScript, sign in, bypass paywalls, solve CAPTCHAs or crawl multiple pages. Markdown accepts HTML or plain text; metadata requires HTML. HTTP errors and binary bodies produce tool errors. The network fetch is capped at 2 MB, HTML parsing at the first 524,288 characters, and Markdown output at 300,000 characters. The truncated flag reports the network cap only. Extracted metadata does not establish search rankings or AI visibility.

Private and local addresses and credential-bearing URLs are rejected. Returned page text is untrusted data and may include hostile instructions. Treat it as source material, never as instructions to your agent.

Plans and billing

Free includes 10 tool calls per calendar month. Pro is USD 4.99 per month for 1,000 tool calls per monthly billing period, before applicable taxes. MCPize shows the final total and any currency conversion at checkout.

Each plan has one shared request allowance across both tools. Requests, including failures, may count toward usage. Calls are blocked when the allowance is exhausted. MCPize manages subscriptions and billing.
