What your assistant can do with it

Four tools answer without a key, with bands rather than exact scores. A key adds exact scores and three more.

lookup_product · free

Check any product

“What do you know about Harvey?” Its market, whether it is operating, shut down or acquired (with buyer, year and source), opportunity, saturation and wrapper risk bands, pricing and headquarters.

ai_graveyard · free

Know what has died

“Which AI products shut down in 2025?” Sourced shut-downs and acquisitions from the AI Graveyard, by year, buyer or market, up to 25 a call.

list_markets · free

See every market at once

“Which AI markets are least crowded?” All 30 with average opportunity, saturation, wrapper share, heat and how many products are operating.

market_overview · free

Size up one market

“How crowded is legal AI?” One market’s averages and graveyard counts, with its top 10 operating products and their bands.

search_tools · key

Find products that fit a brief

“Find healthcare AI products with an opportunity score above 85.” Filter by market, text, exact opportunity and liveness; up to 200 results per call.

get_tool · key

Pull every score on one product

“What are Harvey’s exact scores?” Every score and signal we hold, alongside momentum, pricing, stage and headquarters.

market_mortality · key

Count the losses by market

“Which markets lose the most products?” Shut-down and acquisition counts per market across every listing, from our liveness sweeps.

Questions it answers well

“List the 50 live coding assistants with the most opportunity.”

“Which AI markets have lost the most products?”

“Is this startup’s market crowded? Compare it with the category average.”

“Give me ten low-saturation markets to brief our investment committee on.”

“Which of these companies still exist? Check each one.”

“Draft a market map of AI legal tools with their pricing models.”

Connect in a minute

No key needed to start: add the address and your assistant gets the free tools. For exact scores, add a key from the 90-day data pilot or a Studio or Team plan; it is issued immediately.

VS Code uses "servers" with "type": "http" instead of "mcpServers". Free use is limited to 60 tool calls an hour from one address. Building your own agent? The same endpoint is a plain HTTPS API: see the API.

Built to be trusted

Read-only

Nothing an assistant does through FalcoScan can change the data.

Your conversation stays yours

We receive tool calls, not chats, and store request counts, not what was asked.

Keys you control

Shown once and stored only as a hash. Reissue whenever you like; the old key stops working that moment.

Numbers you can cite

Free answers link the FalcoScan page they came from, with the date of the data, and every score has a published method.

Plans

Four tools are free without a key. A key adds exact scores, full catalog search and shut-down counts for every market, for both the MCP server and the API: in the 90-day data pilot, and in the Studio and Team plans.

Questions

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI assistants use to call outside tools and data. Once FalcoScan is connected, your assistant can look things up in our catalog mid-conversation instead of answering from what it happened to learn in training.

Do I need a key?

No. Without a key, four tools answer anyone: lookup_product, ai_graveyard, list_markets and market_overview. They give a product’s public facts with its opportunity, saturation and wrapper risk bands, the AI Graveyard’s sourced records, and every market’s averages, each with a FalcoScan link to cite. Free use is limited to 60 tool calls an hour from one address. A key adds exact scores, full catalog search with up to 200 products a call, and shut-down and acquisition counts for every market.

Which apps can connect?

Without a key, any MCP client that can add a remote server by its address, including custom connectors in Claude: give it https://falcoscan.com/api/mcp and nothing else. With a key, any client that can also send a header: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and agent frameworks built on the MCP SDKs. Claude Desktop sends the header through the small mcp-remote bridge shown in the setup. We test the server against the official MCP SDK client.

Is it read-only?

Yes. Every tool reads the catalog; nothing your assistant does can change it.

What does FalcoScan see from my conversations?

Only the tool calls themselves, for example “look up Harvey” or “search Healthcare, opportunity above 85”. Your conversation stays with your assistant. We count requests per key for your plan allowance, and calls without a key per address, held only as a one-way hash, for the hourly limit. We do not store what was asked.

Why not just ask the model?

Models are frozen at their training date and have no way to know which AI products launched, pivoted or shut down since. FalcoScan re-scores markets daily and re-checks whether products still exist, so answers reflect the market as it is now, with numbers you can cite.

How do I get a key?

Sign in, accept the data access agreement and pay for the 90-day data pilot; the key is issued immediately and shown once. Studio and Team subscribers issue one from the same page at no extra cost. Reissuing a key retires the old one instantly.

Give your assistant the AI market

Stop pasting research into chats. Connect free in a minute, and add a key when you need exact scores.
