Connect in a few simple steps

Start from your AI client. It will open byAir sign-in and guide you back once you approve the connection.

What you can do with it

Use byAir MCP tools to work with your flights, trips, airports, travel history, and friends’ shared flights.

Flight details & status

Get detailed flight data, computed phases, inbound aircraft context, gates, baggage, and live status.

Search & discovery

Search flights by number or route, look up airports, and resolve airlines and airport IDs for follow-up actions.

Trip management

List trips, add or remove flights, create manual flights, rename trips, merge or split trips, and update trip purpose.

Airport context

Check airport details, flightboards, community tips, and delay signals before you travel.

Setup for AI clients

Choose your client below. Add byAir from Claude’s Directory, or use the public MCP URL for a custom connection. Sign in to your own byAir account when prompted.

Claude

Claude Directory

Add the byAir connector from Claude’s Directory to bring your flights and trips into Claude.

  1. Open byAir in Claude’s Directory and add the connector. Sign in to Claude if prompted.
  2. Sign in to your byAir account and approve access.
  3. Return to Claude, enable byAir in your chat, and ask about your flights and trips.

ChatGPT

Connect byAir as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT on the web using OAuth.

The byAir connector is currently in review. Custom MCP setup availability depends on your plan, workspace permissions, and security settings. See the official guide for current requirements.

  1. In ChatGPT Plugins, choose Add custom MCP server and name it byAir.
  2. Enter https://api.byairapp.com/mcp as the Server URL and select OAuth authentication.
  3. Create the plugin, sign in to byAir when prompted, and approve access before using it.

Claude Code

Perplexity

Connect byAir as a custom remote connector with OAuth authentication.

Your plan and organization settings determine whether custom connectors are available.

  1. Open Account settings → Connectors, then choose + Custom connector → Remote.
  2. Enter https://api.byairapp.com/mcp as the MCP Server URL. Choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP.
  3. Add the connector, then open its card to sign in to byAir and enable it.

Use mcporter to register byAir and complete OAuth sign-in, then use its tools from OpenClaw.

Legacy connection — personal API key

Existing personal links continue to work. We recommend OAuth for new connections. If your client does not support OAuth, use the personal link from the byAir app.

Find your personal link in the app

Profile → Automations → AI Integration (MCP)

Use the full personal URL as your server URL. In clients that ask for a separate authentication method, choose None: the URL already includes the API key.

Your personal link contains a secret in the?api_key= query parameter. Anyone with the link can read and change your byAir data. Keep it private.

If the link is exposed, revoke or regenerate the API key in the app. Update any clients using the old link. This is separate from OAuth access.

Your account. Your permissions.

OAuth lets you connect without sharing a personal API key. Review the permissions and the AI service you choose before approving access.

  • The public MCP URL is safe to share. Your legacy personal link contains a secret and must stay private.
  • A connected client can read and change byAir data within the permissions you approve.
  • Signing out of the byAir website does not revoke an OAuth connection. To revoke access, email connect@byairapp.com.
  • Revoking access stops future requests. It does not automatically delete data already received by the AI service; its own privacy policy and account settings apply.
