Pencil

Lets AI assistants draw: logos, posters, illustrations and scenes, saved as editable SVG and PNG. The AI sees each result, checks it for mistakes and fixes them.

Pencil docs

Pencil lets an AI draw anything. It's a remote MCP server, so it works anywhere an MCP connection can be added. Your assistant sends drawing instructions, Pencil draws them and sends the picture back. Every drawing is saved as an SVG and a PNG.

Server address: https://api.vyndigital.com.au/mcp

Connect Pencil to your AI assistant

Pencil works anywhere an MCP connection can be added. Tested by us as a custom MCP server on claude.ai and chatgpt.com. There are two ways an app connects. You'll need the server address above, and a Pencil account (sign up free).

1. Apps with a connector screen: you sign in

  1. In your app, add a custom connector:
    • claude.ai (tested by us): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
      • chatgpt.com (tested by us): Plugins → Add → Add Custom MCP server.
      • Other apps: look for connectors, plugins or MCP servers in the app's settings.
  2. Name it Pencil and paste https://api.vyndigital.com.au/mcp as the address.
  3. Connect. A Pencil page opens: log in with your Pencil account, and you're connected.

Then just ask, for example: "Use Pencil to design a logo for my bakery."

2. Apps set up with a settings file or command: you use a key

Create a key in your dashboard, then add Pencil to the app's MCP settings. For example (some apps name these fields slightly differently):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pencil": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.vyndigital.com.au/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer pnl_your_key" }
    }
  }
}

Apps with a command line take the same details in one line. For example, Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http pencil https://api.vyndigital.com.au/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer pnl_your_key"

Pencil is made by Vyndigital, an independent business. It isn't made by, or affiliated with, any AI assistant provider.

Tools

  • pencil_draw: start a drawing (or replace one with the same name) from shapes, strokes, text and painted programs for light, glass, water and texture. Uses one drawing from your plan.
  • pencil_edit: change a drawing without redrawing it: move, recolour, add or remove parts. Uses one drawing.
  • pencil_view: look at a drawing, zoom in, or add a grid. Free.
  • pencil_check: catch mistakes an eye would catch, like text running off the edge or parts too small to see. Free.
  • pencil_source: read a drawing back as its recipe, so edits can be exact. Free.
  • pencil_account: your plan and drawings left. Free.

Things to try

  • "Use Pencil to design a logo for a coffee shop called Ember & Oak: warm colours, a simple mark and the name in a serif font."
  • "Draw a poster for a jazz night at The Blue Room on Friday 14 March, with an illustrated saxophone. Check it for mistakes and fix them."
  • "Draw a glass orb on a checkerboard floor with real refraction, then zoom in and improve anything that looks off."

Your drawings

All your drawings are in your dashboard, ready to download as a PNG or an editable SVG. Drawing again with the same name replaces the old version. You own your drawings. You can delete any of them, or your whole account, at any time.

Plans

Your first 10 drawings are free. Pro is $28 USD a month for 100 drawings a day. Looking, checking and reading drawings back are free. Looking is limited to 300 times a day.

Disconnect

Remove Pencil in your app's connector settings. To disconnect every app you connected by signing in, use Log out of all devices in your dashboard, or change your password. An app that uses a key keeps working until you revoke that key in your dashboard.
