AI & MCP: use AuraVMS from ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Muse
Connect AuraVMS to an AI assistant once, then ask in plain words to find suppliers, send RFQs, chase quotes and place purchase orders. Human-readable page: https://www.auravms.com/ai-connector
For AI agents
- MCP server: https://mcp.auravms.com/mcp (remote, streamable HTTP)
- Auth: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Each user signs in to AuraVMS and approves access to their own workspace on a consent screen. Dynamic client registration is supported.
- Requires an AuraVMS account with an active plan or trial. Sign-up: https://app.auravms.com/signup
- Coding agents and scripts can use an API key (Settings → API Keys,
Authorization: Bearer avms_...) with the REST API: https://www.auravms.com/for-agents - Resolve records with read-only tools first. Confirm with the user before

Why use it
You already know what you want done. Now you can just say it.
- Nothing new to learn. Type the way you'd talk to a colleague. No menus to find.
- Fewer boring clicks. Lookups, follow-ups and comparisons take one sentence.
- You stay in charge. Nothing goes to a supplier until you say so.
Chasing suppliers who haven't quoted
- Before (about 10 minutes): Open the RFQ, see who hasn't replied, then send each one a reminder.
- With your AI assistant: "Who hasn't quoted on the steel RFQ yet? Send them a reminder." Done in seconds. Each supplier gets a reminder with their own quote link.
Asking for prices on something new
- Before (about 15 minutes): Fill in the RFQ form line by line, then pick the right suppliers from your list.
- With your AI assistant: "We need 500 kg of 2 mm steel sheet by 15 November. Ask our steel suppliers for prices." The RFQ is filled in and your steel suppliers are picked. You check it and say “send”.
Finding the best offer
- Before (about 20 minutes): Open every quote and compare prices and delivery times, often in a spreadsheet.
- With your AI assistant: "Which supplier is cheapest for each item on the packaging RFQ, and how soon can they deliver?" A clear answer in plain words, item by item, with price and delivery time.
Getting a quick update
- Before (about 5 minutes): Log in, open each RFQ and count how many quotes have come in.
- With your AI assistant: "Give me a quick update on my open RFQs." A short summary of which RFQs have quotes and which are still waiting.
Connect your AI assistant
If you don't use an assistant yet, start with Claude: it has the fewest steps.
Claude (by Anthropic), about 2 minutes
- Open the AuraVMS page in Claude's app directory. You can also open Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and search for “AuraVMS”. Link: https://claude.ai/directory/auravms
- Click Connect. A window opens asking you to sign in to AuraVMS. Use your AuraVMS email and password.
- Read what Claude will be allowed to do, then click Allow. You are taken back to Claude.
- Start a new chat and ask your first question, for example “Show me my open RFQs.”
ChatGPT (by OpenAI), about 5 minutes
- In ChatGPT, click your name, open Settings → Security and login, and switch on Developer mode.
- Open the apps page, click Create MCP app, type “AuraVMS” as the name and paste the AuraVMS link below. Link: https://chatgpt.com/plugins AuraVMS link: https://mcp.auravms.com/mcp
- Sign in to AuraVMS when asked, then click Allow.
- Start a new chat, open the tools menu (the + button), pick AuraVMS and ask your question.
Note: “Developer mode” sounds technical, but it only lets ChatGPT use apps you add yourself. Nothing else in ChatGPT changes.
Grok (by xAI), about 3 minutes
- Open Grok's connectors page, click New Connector, then Custom. Link: https://grok.com/connectors
- Paste the AuraVMS link below. AuraVMS link: https://mcp.auravms.com/mcp
- Sign in to AuraVMS when asked, then click Allow.
Muse (by Meta), about 2 minutes
- In Muse, open Connectors and search for “AuraVMS”.
- Click Connect, sign in to AuraVMS and click Allow.
- Ask Muse to help with your RFQs.
When you're done, ask "Show me my open RFQs." If you see your RFQs, it's working.
What to ask
Find suppliers
Look up who you buy from, or add someone new.
- "Which suppliers do we have for packaging?"
- "Add a new supplier: Harbor Packaging, contact Maria Lopez, maria@harborpack.com."
Ask for prices
Describe what you need in one sentence.
- "We need 500 kg of 2 mm steel sheet by 15 November. Ask our steel suppliers for prices."
- "Looks good, send it."
Follow up
Chase suppliers who are slow to reply.
- "Who still hasn't sent a price for the pallets?"
- "Send them a reminder."
Compare and order
Pick the best offer and place the order.
- "Which supplier is cheapest for each item on the Q4 materials RFQ?"
- "Go with the cheapest quote for the M8 bolts and place the order."
Stay in control
It can:
- Look up your suppliers, RFQs and quotes
- Add suppliers and save RFQ drafts
- Send RFQs and reminders when you ask
- Compare quotes and place orders when you ask
It can't:
- See or change your billing or subscription
- Add or remove team members
- Change your organization settings
- See your password
To switch it off, remove AuraVMS in your assistant's settings, or in AuraVMS open Settings → API Keys and delete the key named after the assistant (for example "Claude (AI connector)"). It stops working straight away.
Get good results
- Be specific. Name the RFQ, the item, the quantity and the date. “500 kg of steel by 15 November” works better than “some steel soon”.
- Check before it sends. The assistant saves a draft first. Read it, then say “Send it”. Nothing goes to a supplier until you ask.
- One job at a time. Ask for one thing, check the answer, then ask for the next. It is easier to spot a mistake that way.
- Double-check numbers. AI assistants can make mistakes. Before you place an order, glance at the price and quantity in AuraVMS.
Common questions
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the plug that lets an AI assistant talk to another app. You don't need to know how it works. Following the steps above sets it up for you.
Does it cost extra?
Not from AuraVMS. It's included in your plan. Some AI assistants need a paid plan of their own to use connectors.
Is my data safe?
The assistant only reaches your AuraVMS workspace through a key that you approve, and it never sees your password. You can switch it off at any time.
Will my suppliers know I used AI?
No. Suppliers get the same RFQ emails, reminders and purchase orders as when you use AuraVMS directly.
Can it send something by mistake?
It only emails suppliers when you ask it to. In Claude you can also set each action to “Needs approval” (Settings → Connectors → AuraVMS), so it asks you every time.
How do I switch it off?
Remove AuraVMS in your assistant's settings, or delete its key in AuraVMS under Settings → API Keys. It stops working straight away.
