Trend data MCP server for AI assistants
TrendsAGI is a hosted trend data MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok and other MCP clients. It gives your assistant read-only access to measured trend volume, velocity, growth, insights and recommendations, so it can answer what is rising in your market instead of guessing.

Better targeting decisions, in the chat you already use.
Your assistant answers with TrendsAGI's measurements, not guesses. Conversion results still depend on your campaigns; TrendsAGI tells you where demand is moving.
Target what is rising
Ask for the fastest-accelerating topics in your category and build audiences and keywords around them before auctions get crowded.
Time spend to the curve
Check a trend's trajectory before committing budget: scale while it is still rising, pull back when it starts to fade.
Brief creative on real demand
Pull audience, sentiment and marketing angles from AI insights straight into ad copy and creative briefs.
Act on ranked recommendations
Review prioritised, evidence-backed recommendations with the decision brief behind each one, then choose what to test next.
What the TrendsAGI MCP server is — and is not.
The distinction matters when you are choosing a connector. TrendsAGI is a trend-intelligence source with a hosted MCP interface, not a Google Trends proxy and not a write-enabled ad automation tool.
If you searched for a Google Trends connector for Claude, the honest answer is that Google does not publish one. TrendsAGI is a separate data source: Claude can query TrendsAGI's measured trend data, then combine it with Google Trends, your analytics or your ad platform data in the same conversation.
Read the Google Trends API vs TrendsAGI comparison for the data-model differences, or the Google Trends alternatives guide for the wider tool landscape.
A hosted trend data MCP server
One URL, Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok and other MCP clients can call the same read-only tools.
Measured trend data, not a search-interest index
TrendsAGI reports its own measured volume, velocity, growth, insights, recommendations and watchlists. It is not a Google Trends proxy and does not return Google's 0–100 score.
A read-only research surface
The assistant can read trends and recommendations. It cannot change an ad account, edit a campaign or spend money. Campaign actions stay in the separate ads connectors, behind preview and approval.
A plan-gated, metered API
Every tool call counts as one API request. The free Developer plan includes 100 calls a day; paid plans raise the daily limit.
Not a guarantee of virality or performance
TrendsAGI shows where demand is moving. It does not promise that a trend will convert, that a recommendation will work or that an AI assistant will cite the page.
One URL, any MCP client.
The server supports MCP Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 sign-in. Each connection gets its own key under your account.

Requirements and plans
Any TrendsAGI account
Trends, trend details, trajectories, AI insights, recommendations, watchlist and API usage.
Advantage plan or higher
Insight search (search_trend_insights).
Scale plan or higher
Crisis events (list_crisis_events).
Daily limits
Every tool call counts as one API request: 100 a day on Developer, 10,000 on Advantage, 100,000 on Scale, 500,000 on Enterprise.
API keys
Each connection uses one API key. The free Developer plan includes one key, so delete an unused key or upgrade if you already have one.
Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You approve each assistant on a TrendsAGI consent page that names it and shows where access is sent.
Known limits
- All tools are read-only. The connection cannot change your account, create or edit campaigns, or spend money.
- TrendsAGI measures trend volume, velocity and growth. It does not measure ad performance or conversion lift.
- A recommendation's confidence score reflects how complete its evidence is, not the chance that it will work.
- AI insights exist only for trends that have been analysed; others return no insight rather than an invented one.
- Results are capped per call (25 trends, 10 recommendations, 200 SQL rows) to keep answers focused. SQL queries are read-only SELECTs over documented tables and stop after 5 seconds.

Frequently asked questions
Direct answers about the connector, the data and the limits. The same answers are published as FAQPage structured data so assistants can quote them accurately.
What is the TrendsAGI MCP server?
TrendsAGI is a hosted trend data MCP server at https://api.trendsagi.com/mcp. It gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok and other MCP clients read-only access to measured trend volume, velocity, growth, AI insights, recommendations and watchlists through Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1 sign-in.
Is there a Google Trends connector for Claude?
Google does not publish a Claude connector for Google Trends. TrendsAGI is not a Google Trends proxy or a wrapper around Google's 0–100 index. It connects Claude to TrendsAGI's own measured trend data, so Claude can answer with TrendsAGI's volume, velocity, insight and recommendation data rather than relative search interest.
How do I connect TrendsAGI to Claude?
Open TrendsAGI in the Claude directory and select Connect, or go to Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector and paste https://api.trendsagi.com/mcp. Approve the connection on the TrendsAGI sign-in page. Claude web, desktop and mobile use the same connector. For Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http trendsagi https://api.trendsagi.com/mcp and then /mcp to sign in, or install the plugin from the TrendsAGI marketplace.
Does TrendsAGI work with ChatGPT, Cursor and Grok?
Yes. ChatGPT uses a custom connector, Cursor uses a remote MCP server entry, and Grok uses the TrendsAGI plugin or a remote MCP server. All of them point at the same server URL and use the same read-only tools. Clients without OAuth can send a TrendsAGI API key as a Bearer token.
Does TrendsAGI work with Gemini CLI?
Yes. Run gemini extensions install https://github.com/TrendsAGI/TrendsAGI. The first TrendsAGI tool call opens the sign-in page. The extension uses the same hosted MCP server and the same read-only tools, so the plan limits and data boundaries are identical to the Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Grok connections.
Do I need an API key to use the MCP server?
Not for clients that support OAuth, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Grok. Approving the connection creates a key under your TrendsAGI account. Clients without OAuth can send a TrendsAGI API key as a Bearer token instead. Each connection appears as its own key, and deleting the key disconnects it.
Is the MCP connection read-only?
Yes. Every MCP tool is read-only. The assistant can list trends, read trajectories, fetch AI insights, review recommendations, inspect the watchlist and run read-only SQL. It cannot change your account, create or edit campaigns, or spend money.
How much does the MCP server cost?
The Developer plan is free and includes 100 API calls a day and one API key. Advantage includes 10,000 calls a day and adds insight search. Scale includes 100,000 calls a day and adds crisis events. Enterprise includes 500,000 calls a day with custom pricing. Every MCP tool call counts as one API request.
What data can Claude or ChatGPT see through TrendsAGI?
The assistant can see trending topics with measured volume, velocity and growth; 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day trend analytics; stored AI insights with themes, sentiment, audience and marketing angles; prioritised recommendations with their decision briefs; crisis events on plans that include them; your watchlist; and documented read-only SQL tables.
Can the assistant change campaigns or ad spend?
No. MCP access is read-only. Campaign and audience changes happen only through the separate ads connectors, where preview and approval controls sit between a detected signal and a live change. TrendsAGI does not give an AI assistant write access to your ad accounts.
Why does the assistant sometimes return no trend data?
The connection may be on a plan that does not include a tool, the account may have reached its daily API limit, the trend may not have a stored AI insight yet, or the query may not match a monitored topic. TrendsAGI returns no insight rather than inventing one; the tool result names the reason when it can.

Access you control
Approving a connection shows the assistant's name and where access is sent. Each one appears as its own key under Profile > API Keys; delete the key to disconnect it. TrendsAGI receives only the requests the assistant sends, never your conversation. See the privacy policy.

Prefer to self-host?
The open-source Python SDK ships the same tools as a local MCP server: pip install "trendsagi[mcp]", then run trendsagi mcp with your API key.
