Prioritizing mid-ranking keywords by search volume
Find queries my site ranks between positions 8 and 20 for, then look up search volume for each and tell me which to target first.
Let me pull your Search Console data and find the opportunities.
GSC Search Analytics
query_gsc_search_analytics
site: sc-domain:example.com · last 28 days
dimensions: query · filter: 8 ≤ position ≤ 20

Good, I've got 8 queries sitting in the 8–20 band. Now let me pull search volume on those.
Keyword Search Volume
get_keyword_search_volume
keywords: 8 · location: United States
→ volume, CPC, competition for 8 keywords
Here's what stands out. You've got 8 queries ranking in the 8–20 striking-distance zone, and they're not all created equal. The math changes a lot once you cross-reference position, volume, and competition.
Target first: technical seo checklist
Position 10.1, 5,140 monthly searches, and (this is the unusual part) low competition (index 34). You're one or two spots from breaking onto page one for a keyword most of your competitors aren't fighting hard for. Refreshing this page (updated examples, better internal linking, maybe expand the checklist itself) should move it into the top 5 within a couple of weeks. Highest expected ROI by a clear margin.
Target second: seo report template
Position 8.9, 6,660 volume. You're right at the page-one threshold, the kind of ranking where a single decent backlink or a content refresh flips it. Competition is high, but you're already there: the work is finishing the job, not starting it. Your current CTR of 1.29% jumps to roughly 4–6% once you're in the top 5, which is around 200–300 extra clicks a month.
Quick win: meta description length
Only 1,600 searches, but competition is the lowest of the set (index 21) and the query has a clear, short answer. Add a direct answer near the top of the page plus a small FAQ block and you have a real shot at the featured snippet.
Here's the full picture:
| Query | Pos. | Volume | Competition |
|---|---|---|---|
| technical seo checklist | 10.1 | 5,140 | Low (34) |
| seo report template | 8.9 | 6,660 | High (78) |
| meta description length | 11.6 | 1,600 | Low (21) |
| local seo audit | 12.4 | 2,900 | Medium (52) |
| core web vitals checker | 16.3 | 3,600 | Medium (47) |
| schema markup generator | 14.7 | 8,100 | High (81) |
| seo audit tool free | 18.2 | 12,100 | High (92) |
| how to do keyword research | 19.5 | 9,900 | High (88) |
Skip for now: seo audit tool free and how to do keyword research. The volume is tempting, but you're sitting at 18–20 against heavyweight tool sites with competition indexes near 90. Moving those would take a sustained link-building push, not a refresh.
Suggested order:
- technical seo checklist: refresh this week. Lowest effort, highest payoff.
- seo report template: add a downloadable template and point 3–4 internal links at it.
- meta description length: restructure for the snippet. An hour of work.
- local seo audit and core web vitals checker: revisit in a month once the first three have moved.

What it is
What is an SEO MCP server?
An MCP server gives an AI assistant access to outside tools and data through the Model Context Protocol. CalmSEO is one of those servers, focused on SEO. Once connected, your assistant can call live SEO tools (Search Console reports, SERP results, keyword volumes, competitor rankings, page audits) without you opening a separate dashboard.
Setup is one URL with nothing to install. Add the CalmSEO endpoint to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other MCP-compatible client, sign in, and ask an SEO question in plain language. Connect Google Search Console and the assistant can work from your own clicks, impressions, and positions; those tools are free on every plan.
If you've ever copied keywords into a spreadsheet, then into ChatGPT, then into your CMS, that's the workflow this replaces. It won't do everything Ahrefs or Semrush do. It covers the parts most people use, inside the assistant you already have open.
Two interfaces
Use CalmSEO in a chat, or call it from code
MCP for AI agents
Add one hosted MCP endpoint to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, or another MCP-compatible client. Your assistant calls the tools from natural-language prompts.
REST API for apps and jobs
Use bearer API keys and JSON endpoints when you need SERP, keyword, audit, or Search Console data in scripts, products, cron jobs, and backend workflows.
Available tools
The same SEO tools, over MCP and REST
Your agent can call these from a natural-language prompt, or your app can call them from the REST API.
Your Search Console data
Connect Google Search Console to query your own clicks, impressions, CTR, and position by query, page, country, or device.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is an SEO MCP server?+
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI agents call tools from external servers. An SEO MCP server exposes SEO tools that way. CalmSEO implements MCP over HTTP, so agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can call SERP, keyword, audit, and Search Console tools the same way they call filesystem or git tools.
Which agents are supported?+
Anything that speaks MCP: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex, Continue, Cline, and Zed.
Do I need to know how to code?+
No. You add a URL to your AI client, sign in, and start asking questions. If you can paste a link into a settings panel, you can use CalmSEO.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes. Sign up with an email, no credit card. The free plan includes starter credits for paid tools, and Google Search Console tools stay free on every plan.
How does this compare to Ahrefs or Semrush?+
CalmSEO is not a dashboard. It exposes the SEO primitives an AI agent or app needs (SERPs, volume, ranked keywords, audits, GSC) through MCP and a REST API. See the Ahrefs MCP alternative and Semrush MCP alternative pages for a side-by-side.
Can I use CalmSEO without an AI agent?+
Yes. The same SEO tools are available over a plain REST API. Create an API key and call SERPs, keyword data, audits, and Search Console from your own code, scripts, or scheduled jobs. MCP and the REST API share one account and one credit pool.
How do credits work?+
Each paid tool reserves a fixed number of credits before the upstream call. If the upstream call fails, the reservation is released. Repeat requests served from cache use the same credits. Google Search Console tools are free on every plan.
Where does the data come from?+
Two sources. Your own Google Search Console (via OAuth) for clicks, impressions, CTR, and position on your sites. DataForSEO for live SERPs, keyword volumes, ranked keywords, and on-page audits. We cache responses and reserve credits in front of the paid endpoints.
Can I cancel any time?+
Yes. Stripe-backed monthly billing. Unused credits expire at the end of each cycle.
