Agent Chef

Your AI agent plans dinner.Your family votes.

Agent Chef is a tiny app your own AI agent runs once a week: it proposes ten dinners, the household votes and leaves feedback on their phones, the top three win, and the agent builds the grocery cart. Bring Claude, ChatGPT, or any agent that speaks MCP.

Just need a vote tonight? Try the free Dinner Vote: type the options, share a link, no accounts.

Your agent

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor … checks in once or twice a day, asks Agent Chef what's due, writes the recipes, sends the messages, fills the cart.

Agent Chef

Remembers everything: preferences, pantry, ballots, votes, feedback, ratings, orders. Decides what happens next. Serves the vote pages.

Your household

Each person gets a personal link. No app, no account: tap, vote for five, add a comment, rate last week's dinner.

The agent proposes ten dinners

Your agent reads the household's preferences, favorites, past winners and what's in the pantry, then proposes ten recipes with photos and sends everyone their vote link. Recipe writing is the agent's job; photos, links and messages are the app's.

Everyone votes and weighs in

Five votes each. Tallies, who voted for what, and comments are visible to the whole household, so the slow voters get nudged and "we had pork last week" is out in the open. The agent reads the feedback and adds a few more options to the ballot.

Winners, then the cart

Voting closes on the day and time the household picks. The top three win, the agent announces them, builds a shopping list minus what's already on hand, fills the online cart following your shopping preferences, and stops before checkout for a human yes.

Connect your agent in two minutes

Paste one sentence into your agent and click Allow once. No keys to copy: Claude, ChatGPT and friends sign in to Agent Chef themselves. From then on the whole loop is one sentence your agent runs on a schedule: "Run Agent Chef." The agent asks the app what's due and does it, so it never has to remember where the week stands.

The meal-kit experience without the meal-kit markup

Meal kits charge $10 to $13 a serving to pick your dinners for you. Planning apps charge monthly and still send you to the store. Agent Chef does the planning with an agent you already have, lets your family choose the menu by vote, and buys ordinary groceries from your usual store. Side by side with HelloFresh, Blue Apron, Yummly and Mealime, or all comparisons.

Questions

Which agents work?

Anything that can connect to a remote MCP server: Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Code), ChatGPT and Codex, Cursor, or your own script. The agent needs a browser tool for the grocery step; the rest is plain tool calls.

Do family members need accounts?

No. Each member gets a personal link by text or email. Only the household owner signs in, with an email link, Google or GitHub.

How does the agent know what to do?

It asks. Each time your agent checks in, Agent Chef tells it exactly what's due that day: propose this week's dinners, send the ballot, nudge whoever hasn't voted, add a couple of options if someone asked, close the vote, or build the cart. Nothing to remember, nothing gets sent twice, and a missed day is simply picked up the next time it checks in.

Does it order groceries by itself?

It fills the cart and stops. Checkout always waits for explicit approval in your conversation with the agent.

What does it cost?

Free during early access. After that it's $5 a month or $40 a year per household, not a meal-kit bill. You pay separately for your own agent (Claude, ChatGPT) and, of course, your groceries.
