What it can do

• Find parts: shop products (paint racks, organisers, planters, mounts, kids' track parts, letters, STL files) and the business parts catalogue (gripper fingers, sensor enclosures, brackets, grid organisers, NFC stands) with live prices.
• Quote your STL: upload or link an STL, 3MF or OBJ and get our quote engine's price, print time, size and printability checks, plus a review-and-pay link.
• Check materials: 25 materials with typical heat, strength and tolerance values, what each is good or bad for, and datasheet links, with our suitable-use notes.
• Track your order: give your order reference and the email you ordered with, and it reports received / printing / shipped with the carrier and tracking link. Nothing is shown without both matching.

Which AI assistants can connect to Formada3D?

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code) and any MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP, at https://mcp.formada3d.com/. ChatGPT and other agents that use HTTP APIs can call the same tools as plain JSON at POST https://mcp.formada3d.com/api/<tool>; the OpenAPI spec is at mcp.formada3d.com/openapi.json.

Do I need an account or API key?

No sign-in is needed. The only gated tool is order status: it needs the order reference and the exact email the order was placed with, and it returns status, carrier and tracking only.

Can the AI buy something for me?

No. The AI never pays. It gives you a link that fills your Formada3D cart or opens your quote, and you review and pay yourself on our Stripe checkout. Business accounts can order on invoice/PO.

How are the prices worked out?

In AUD with no GST (we are not registered for GST), always from our live price list or the same pricing code our design studios and checkout use. Instant quotes have an A$8 minimum per order.

Which 3D files can it quote?

STL, 3MF or OBJ, by link or upload. Our quote engine slices the file and returns price, grams, print time, size and printability checks plus a review-and-pay link. For STEP or IGES files use /quote/ on the site.

How long until an order arrives?

Every item is printed to order in Melbourne and dispatched in 3–5 business days; express 48 h is available on instant quotes (+30%), and economy (8–12 business days) takes 15% off the print price (the A$8 minimum still applies). Shipping is A$10 within Australia (free over A$100), A$15 to New Zealand, A$20 to the US and A$25 to most other countries (not the UK or Brazil).

What happens to the files I send for a quote?

They are stored by our quote engine like any quote upload, for 30 days unless ordered. Enquiry details are kept only to reply.
