Claude (MCP)
Connect Claude to AppReply to ask questions about your reviews, insights, knowledge base, and the public app stores
AppReply has a remote MCP server, so you can add it to Claude as a custom connector. Once connected, you can ask Claude things like "what are today's unreplied 1-star reviews?" or "how does our rating compare to Spotify's?" and Claude pulls the answer from AppReply and the public app stores.
The connector is read-only. Claude can look things up, but it cannot reply to reviews, approve drafts, or change any settings. To have an assistant draft and propose changes inside AppReply, use RADAR.
[!NOTE]
The connector needs an organization on the Standard, Pro or Ultimate plan, or in its free trial. On the Free or Hobby plan it still connects, but every tool answers that the organization has no active plan. An Owner or Admin can choose a plan on the Subscription page (see Billing).
Connect Claude
1. Add a custom connector in Claude
In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, choose + Add, then Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner first adds it for the organization under Organization settings > Connectors; members then connect it from Customize > Connectors. Claude's own steps are in Anthropic's guide to custom connectors.
2. Enter the server URL
Name the connector (for example, "AppReply") and use this URL:
https://appreply.co/mcp
If Claude asks how the connector signs in, choose OAuth with Register automatically, and leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty.
3. Sign in to AppReply
Click Connect. A window opens on appreply.co. Sign in if you aren't already.
4. Choose an organization and allow access
The consent screen shows which app is asking for access and, for Claude, where you'll be sent back to. Pick the AppReply organization Claude should read (if you belong to only one, it is already selected), then click Allow access. Deny ends the request.
[!NOTE]
Each connection reads one organization. To use a different organization, disconnect and connect again, choosing the other one.
[!WARNING]
If the consent screen says Check where this goes before you allow it, click Deny unless you started the connection yourself from that app. Anyone can register an app under any name.
What Claude can do
Your AppReply data
These tools only read the organization you chose when connecting, and only your own apps, never the competitors you track in AppReply. To compare with a competitor, name the app and Claude uses the public store tools below. The review and insight tools read only an app's monitored countries, which list_connected_apps shows (none set means every country). Long lists come back a page at a time, and Claude asks for the next page when it needs more.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
list_connected_apps | Your own apps, 25 per page, with their AppReply ID, store ID, platform, monitored countries, how many reviews are stored, whether the first fetch is still running, and whether the app has a store connection that can publish replies |
search_reviews | Reviews AppReply has collected, with their reply and translation when there is one. Filter by text, app, exact star rating, or date range (up to 50 per call) |
list_unreplied_reviews | Reviews that still have no reply: your support queue. For App Store apps, a reply written in App Store Connect rather than AppReply may not show here. Filter by app, a maximum star rating, or date range (up to 50 per call). A reply that failed to publish stays in the queue. A draft waiting for approval does not, and is counted separately, along with failed and queued replies |
get_review_insights | Insights that haven't been dismissed, including ones that cover the whole organization: surges, drops, and rating changes, with the root cause and recommended actions when AppReply found them. Pinned first, then by severity. Filter by app, severity, or date range (up to 25 per call) |
search_knowledge_base | The passages of an app's knowledge base closest in meaning to a question, each with a similarity score (up to 25 per call). Requires an app |
get_version_history | Release history AppReply has stored for one of your apps, newest first, or the current store listing's version if there is none. For an app you have not connected, only its current store version. Dates are approximate. Samsung, Huawei, and RuStore apps have no version history |
Public app store research
These tools work for any app on Google Play or the App Store, not just yours. They read one country at a time, and us is the default. For an app you have connected, the listing, review, similar-app, and pricing tools use its first monitored country instead. Where a tool takes a language, it applies to Google Play only.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
search_app | Apps matching a name, in the store's own search order (up to 50) |
get_app_details | The store listing: description, ratings, screenshots, version, developer |
fetch_reviews | Live public reviews from the store (up to 200). Google Play reviews are in one language; the App Store returns every language, and doesn't say whether a review was answered |
analyze_reviews | A star split, weekly counts, and counts of common English praise and complaint words across up to 200 recent reviews. It counts English words and does not read the reviews: the counts are empty for a Google Play sample in another language, and on the App Store every review is checked for the English words, so reviews in other languages rarely add to the counts |
get_similar_apps | Related apps (up to 40). On Google Play this is the list the store shows on the app's page. Apple publishes no such list, so on iOS it is the top App Store search matches for the app's genre, which are not necessarily competitors |
get_developer_info | A developer's app portfolio. The first 25 apps are listed, with the total found (on Google Play, up to 60) |
get_pricing_details | The listing price, in-app purchase hints, and monetization model, inferred from the store listing. In-app purchase details are Android only |
analyze_top_keywords | The apps on the first page of results for a keyword: how concentrated the publishers are, the average rating, and the share that are paid. Android results may have no rating or price |
get_keyword_scores | A rough difficulty score from 1 (easy) to 10 (hard), based on the first 10 results for a keyword. Traffic is not measured, because the stores publish no search volume |
suggest_keywords | Search suggestions for a keyword (up to 30). On the App Store, the store chooses the country and language |
Store research covers Google Play and the App Store only. Reviews from Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, and RuStore are available through your AppReply data tools if those apps are connected.
Access and security
- Claude gets an access token that lasts one hour and is renewed automatically. The connection ends after 30 days without use, and in any case 90 days after you allowed it. Then Claude asks you to connect again.
- Every request checks that you're still a member of the organization. If you're removed from the organization, the connector stops working right away.
- Each connection can make 60 requests a minute, and the organization 120 across all its connections. Reading public reviews (
fetch_reviews,analyze_reviews) counts as 5 requests, and a knowledge base search as 2. Past a limit, Claude is told to retry shortly. - To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude's connector settings.
Other MCP clients can use the same URL if they support remote servers, OAuth with PKCE, and dynamic client registration.
Troubleshooting
[accordion] The consent screen says the request expired
The authorization request is valid for 10 minutes. Start again from Connect in Claude.
[accordion] No organizations are listed
You need to belong to an AppReply organization before you can connect. Accept your invite or finish onboarding first.
[accordion] The organization has no active plan
The connector connects, but its tools only run for an organization on the Standard, Pro or Ultimate plan, or in its free trial. An Owner or Admin can choose a plan on the Subscription page. Then ask Claude again.
[accordion] The connector is switched off or temporarily unavailable
"The AppReply connector is switched off" means AppReply has paused the connector, for everyone or for your organization. "Temporarily unavailable" means AppReply could not finish its checks just then; try again in a few seconds.
[accordion] Claude says it can't find an app
Tools about your own data take the AppReply app ID from
list_connected_apps, not the store ID. Ask Claude to list your connected apps first.
