Make sign-up sheets from your AI assistant

Ask ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant to “make a potluck sign-up sheet” and it creates a real sheet on SignUpSheet.page: a link to share with everyone and a private organizer link for you. Free, no ads, and nobody needs an account.

Claude

Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste the URL and save. Then ask Claude for a sheet in any chat.

ChatGPT

When SignUpSheet.page is listed in ChatGPT, add it from there. Until then, on plans with developer mode you can add a custom connector with the URL and No authentication.

Le Chat (Mistral)

Open Connectors, choose Add Connector → Custom MCP Connector, paste the URL and choose no authentication.

Perplexity

Where custom connectors are available on your plan, add a remote connector with the URL.

Grok

Open grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector → Custom and paste the URL.

Use it in n8n

n8n can make sheets as part of an automation: for example a new volunteer sheet every month, or a farewell card when someone’s last day is added to a spreadsheet.

With an AI agent: add an AI Agent node and give it the MCP Client Tool. Paste the connector URL as the endpoint, choose HTTP Streamable if n8n asks for a transport, and set Authentication to None. Then tell the agent what to make.
As a fixed step: add an MCP Client node, paste the URL into MCP Endpoint URL, set Authentication to None and pick a Tool, such as create_signup_sheet. Fill in its fields, or set Input Mode to JSON and paste something like the example below.
The result includes share_url, organizer_url and flyer_url. Send them on with an email, Slack or Telegram node, and keep the organizer link private: anyone with it can edit or delete the sheet.

Other tools: create_date_poll (an options list of dates, each with optional times), create_group_card (a recipient_name name and an occasion) and get_sheet_summary (a share link). Please create sheets only when people will use them; very large numbers of calls are limited.

What the connector can do

create_signup_sheet — Makes a sign-up sheet: slots such as dishes, shifts or time slots, with optional dates and times and how many people each slot needs.
create_date_poll — Makes a date poll: people answer yes, maybe or no for each date or time.
create_group_card — Makes a group card for one person, with an optional chip-in for a gift.
get_sheet_summary — Reads how a sheet, poll or card is going from its public link. Read-only; it never returns email addresses.

No connector? Use a pre-filled link

Assistants that can only write a link (such as Copilot, Meta AI, the Gemini app or a text-message assistant) can send a link that opens our create form already filled in. Nothing is created until the person checks it and taps Create.

Never put email addresses or the organizer’s name in a link; the form asks for them. Up to 30 items. Keep links under 2,000 characters. Add via=ai so we can count links from assistants.

Examples

Privacy

Your assistant sends us only what is needed to make the sheet: the title, slots or dates, the organizer name, and an email address only if you give one. We never see your chat.
The private organizer link appears in your chat. Anyone with it can edit or delete the sheet, so do not share that conversation. Give your email and we also send you both links.
Sheets made from an assistant work like any other sheet, under the same privacy policy, and you can delete them at any time.
