CrateWire

Ask Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps about the tracks DJs play. Look up the tracks CrateWire identified in an Instagram post, TikTok or DJ set link, see what the DJs you follow played lately, browse your feed and your scanned sets, and start new scans on your plan. Remote server, OAuth sign-in, no API key.

Paste this into your AI chat

Help me connect CrateWire to you. CrateWire is a remote MCP server at https://cratewire.com/mcp and it signs in with OAuth, so there is no API key. If you can add MCP servers yourself, add it as a remote HTTP server named CrateWire. If you can't, give me the exact steps to add it as a custom connector in this app. Then I'll sign in to CrateWire in my browser and approve.

Or paste just the server URL when your app asks for it: https://cratewire.com/mcp

What you can ask

  • Look up a link

Give it a public Instagram post or reel, a TikTok video, or a DJ set link from YouTube, SoundCloud or Mixcloud. You get the tracks CrateWire already identified for it. Nothing new is scanned. “What tracks are in this reel? <link>”
  • Your DJs

The DJs you follow on CrateWire, with how many tracks we found for each. “Which of my DJs have the most IDs?”
  • A DJ's latest tracks

The newest tracks found in posts from a DJ you follow. “What has @yourdj been playing this month?”
  • Your feed

What's new across the DJs you follow, the posts you scanned and your imports. “Anything new in my feed since Friday?”
  • Your sets

The DJ sets you scanned on CrateWire, newest first. “List the sets I scanned this week.”
  • A set's tracklist

The tracks we found in one of your sets, or the public preview of a set someone else scanned. “Give me the tracklist of my last set.”
  • Scan a new link

Send a post, reel, TikTok video or set link CrateWire hasn't scanned yet and ask your app to scan it. The scan uses your plan's monthly scans or set minutes, the same as pasting the link in CrateWire, and your app asks for the result a little later. Only apps you allow can start scans. “Scan this set and tell me what you find. <link>”
  • Scan a list of links

Send up to 10 posts and 5 sets at once. Your app first shows what CrateWire already found and what the new scans would use from your plan, and starts them only when you say yes. Only apps you allow can start scans. “Scan these links and tell me what's in them: <links>”
  • Follow DJs

Send a list of Instagram handles or profile links and your app follows up to 25 DJs at a time, in list order. It uses your plan's DJ slots and monthly DJ changes, the same as following in CrateWire, and never unfollows anyone. Only apps you allow can follow DJs. “Follow these DJs on CrateWire: <handles>”
  • Your Radar

Who played the artists and tracks you watch, and which DJs are new to them, over the last week, month or all time. Radar is part of the Vault plan. “Who played my Radar artists this month?”
  • Watch an artist or track

Add an artist or a track to your Radar from the chat. Only apps you allow can change your watches. “Add this track to my Radar: <link>”
  • Stop watching

Remove a watch from your Radar. Confirming or rejecting possible matches still happens on Radar in CrateWire. “Stop watching that artist on my Radar.”

What each plan sees

  • Every plan, Free included, as soon as you're signed in. There is no lookup without a CrateWire account.
  • Answers follow your plan, exactly like the app. Where the app shows you the first 3 tracks, so does your AI app, and it tells you how many more there are.
  • Your own sets show what your plan shows in the app. Sets someone else scanned show their public preview, the first 10 minutes.
  • Asking never uses up your monthly scans or set minutes.
  • Before a list of scans uses your plan, your app shows what's already found and what the new scans will use.
  • Following DJs from your app uses the same DJ slots and monthly changes as the app.
  • Radar answers are part of the Vault plan.
  • Scans your app starts count against your plan's monthly scans and set minutes, exactly like a paste in the app, and need an active plan.
  • Without an active plan, an AI app can start one post scan per account, and its answer shows the first 3 tracks.
  • Limits for every plan: 60 link lookups and 300 questions a day per account.
  • When your plan limits an answer, the answer says so. In ChatGPT that is all it says. In other apps it ends with one link: the 7-day free trial when your account can start one, and our plans page otherwise. See plans

What your app gets

  • A key that only works for CrateWire's AI connection. It never gets your email address or your password, and it cannot sign in to CrateWire as you.
  • The answers it asks for: track names, DJ handles, set titles and links to posts and sets.
  • If you let it start scans, the links it sends are scanned under your account, as if you pasted them, and the results show up in CrateWire too.
  • It can follow DJs or change your Radar watches only if you allow it when you connect. You can turn that off in Settings.
  • On our side we keep the app's name, the address it connects from, and when you connected it and last used it. Read the privacy policy
