  • Poll a running analysis — Check the status of an async scan and read the verdict and report link once the run finishes.
  • Compare and rank ideas — Run starter scans on several ideas and rank them by viability score.
  • Add deep report modules — Enrich a paid deep report with Proof of Demand, Founder Fit, Playbook, Trends, or Community Signals.

The Preuve AI startup validation MCP server lets any AI agent validate startup ideas before it builds them. The MCP server and its HTTP API are live. The remote MCP server at https://mcp.preuve.ai/mcp works with OAuth sign-in as an app in ChatGPT's app directory, as a claude.ai custom connector or in Cursor, Claude Code and Codex, or with Hermes Agent and any HTTP MCP client; a local stdio server is also available. The API runs the Preuve analysis and returns a viability score, market research, competitor analysis, a structured ideas-json export, and a shareable report URL. Deep reports can generate optional modules: Proof of Demand, Founder Fit, Playbook, Trends, and Community Signals. A ready-made Agent Skill at docs.preuve.ai/agent-skill teaches AI agents the full Preuve workflow, including quota safety and retry semantics. API keys never grant access to the Preuve dashboard or account settings.

Add Preuve to Claude, Cursor or Codex

Fastest · free

In claude.ai

Web, desktop or mobile. Claude signs you in and mints the key during consent, so there is nothing to paste.

1Open the Preuve AI listing

2Sign in with Preuve AI, press Allow

3Ask it anything

Connect from Claude

Works on the free plan. About 20 seconds.

In a coding agent

Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Hermes or any MCP client. You don't configure anything. Paste one prompt.

1Get a key (not needed if your agent signs in)

2Paste one message to your agent

3It installs Preuve and runs your first scan

Copy the prompt→

Copied to your clipboard. Works with every agent.

Paste this prompt to your agent

Replace <describe your idea> with yours. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and any client with OAuth sign you in. Anywhere else the agent shows you where your key goes, never in the chat. It reads the two doc pages, picks the setup for its own client, installs the skill if it supports skills, then runs a free starter scan.

Set up Preuve AI MCP for me.

Server: https://mcp.preuve.ai/mcp (HTTP transport)
Auth: if this client supports MCP OAuth (Claude Code, Cursor and
Codex do), add the server with no header and let me sign in,
unless I say I already have a key. If it only takes a header, or
I have a key, show me where your MCP config takes the header
Authorization: Bearer prv_... and I will put my key there myself.
Never ask me to paste the key in chat.

Read https://docs.preuve.ai/mcp-server.md for the setup that matches
this client, and https://docs.preuve.ai/agent-skill.md for how to use
the tools without spending paid quota. Install the skill if you can.

Then run start_analysis with scanType "starter" on this idea: <describe your idea>

Prefer to do it by hand? Per-client snippets for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Hermes are on docs.preuve.ai/mcp-server. On OpenClaw, install the Preuve AI plugin from ClawHub: openclaw plugins install @vxncxnx/preuve. In Claude Code, install the Preuve AI plugin from GitHub: claude plugin marketplace add VXNCXNX/preuve-claude-plugin, then claude plugin install preuve@preuve.

Startup validation MCP FAQ

What is the Preuve MCP server?

It is a remote MCP server that lets your AI agent check a startup idea before it builds anything. One tool call runs a Preuve analysis from 60+ live sources and returns a viability score, market research, competitor analysis, a link to the full report, and a structured JSON export. Add https://mcp.preuve.ai/mcp in claude.ai, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex and sign in with OAuth, so there is no key to copy. The same analysis is also available as an HTTP API for scripts and backends.

How strict is the verdict?

Strict on purpose. In Preuve's July 2026 benchmark of 6,000+ analyses, the median score was 54 out of 100 and only 17.5% scored 70 or above, the line for a Go. 76% landed in Caution and 6.4% in No-go. These are model assessments, not startup outcomes, and every report cites the sources behind its score.

See the full benchmark

Does it work on the free plan?

Yes. Connecting from claude.ai, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex signs you in on any Preuve plan, free included, and your agent can run free starter scans right away. Deep scans use paid quota, and only when the agent asks for one by name: a starter scan never spends it, and a refused deep scan fails loudly instead of quietly downgrading.

Is my idea kept private?

Yes. Reports stay in your private account, and a public share link exists only if you ask for one. Your idea is processed by enterprise AI APIs (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI) whose terms bar training on it, and no person reads it. You can delete any report, or your whole account, at any time.

How Preuve protects your idea

How long does a scan take?

A starter scan takes about 60 seconds. A deep scan takes about ten minutes. Runs are async: the agent starts one with start_analysis, polls get_analysis, and reads the verdict when the run is ready.

What is the difference between a starter and a deep scan?

scanType is explicit on every run. "starter" runs the Reality Check at no cost from your Starter scan allowance. "deep" runs the full paid analysis (15+ sections, pivots, citations) and consumes your account quota: subscription scans first, then lifetime monthly scans, then tokens.

What does my agent get back?

Every scan returns a viability score and verdict, market research, named competitors, SWOT, risks, citations and a link to the full report. export_analysis returns all of it as structured JSON (ideas-json, schemaVersion 2), and on a paid deep scan it adds the full report body: sections, pivots and any deep modules you generated.

Which tools does the Preuve MCP server have?

Six. start_analysis runs a scan, get_analysis polls it, enrich_analysis adds deep modules (Proof of Demand, Founder Fit, Playbook, Trends, Community Signals), export_analysis returns the report as JSON, and generate_ideas suggests business ideas that fit you. get_agency is for client work in a Consultant or Agency workspace. Two prompts you pick yourself, validate_idea and generate_ideas, sit on top. The remote server and the local stdio server carry the same set, and a ready-made Agent Skill (docs.preuve.ai/agent-skill) teaches your agent to use them without spending paid quota.

Do I need an API key?

Not with OAuth. Connecting from claude.ai, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex signs you in and creates the key during consent. A client that only takes a header uses a key you create in your account (paid plan or a subscribed or unlocked Consultant or Agency workspace), sent as Authorization: Bearer. A key is not a login: it cannot open your dashboard or billing, and it only sees the analyses it created, unless you gave it Agency access.

How much does it cost?

Nothing on top of your plan. MCP calls draw from the same quota as the web app: starter scans from your free Starter allowance, deep scans from your subscription, lifetime or token balance. Deep modules are included in the deep report price, and failed runs refund what they claimed.

Can I use it for client work?

Yes, on a Consultant or Agency workspace. get_agency lists your clients, and start_analysis, get_analysis and export_analysis take workspace: "agency" to work inside it. The key needs Agency access, agency:write to start a client analysis and agency:read to read one. Neither is granted by default: approve them on the OAuth consent screen, or select them when you create the key.
