• Keyword research

  Asoly builds candidates from your own title and description, from Apple’s autocomplete and from the apps ranking above you. Each one arrives with a popularity estimate, a difficulty score, an opportunity score and your current rank for it.

• The metadata plan

  A keyword only works once it sits in your metadata. Asoly shows which term belongs in the app name, which in the subtitle and which in the keyword field, and counts the characters you have left in each.

• Daily tracking

  Every tracked keyword is checked once a day from your own Mac, in any of 115 App Store countries. If the Mac was asleep at the time, Asoly runs the missed check when it wakes.

• Notifications that mean something

  You hear about a keyword crossing the top 10 or top 50, moving five places or more inside the top 50, dropping out of the top 100, or ranking for the first time. Hysteresis keeps a value sitting on the line from notifying twice.

• The five apps above you

  Each check returns the whole result list, so Asoly keeps the top five apps for every keyword you track. You see who holds the position you are aiming for; tracking their ranks over time is not in this build.

• Your data, your Mac

  Apps, keywords and the full history live in a database on your own Mac. There is no account and no server, and CSV export hands you the whole table whenever you want it somewhere else.

I built Asoly for my own app, NAWT, after months of typing keywords into the App Store by hand and never writing the results down. I wanted one thing: to be told when a position moved, without opening anything.

Questions

Does Asoly show search volume?

Not yet. Apple publishes none. Asoly shows a popularity estimate derived from the order of Apple’s autocomplete suggestions, and labels it as an estimate everywhere it appears.

What if my Mac is off?

Asoly catches up when it wakes. Nothing is tracked while the Mac is off, because there is no server doing it for you. Missed days stay visible as gaps in the chart.

How accurate are the ranks?

Asoly reads the store’s own search results, without personalisation. Positions inside the first 100 are stable. Beyond rank 100 the store’s list moves on its own, so Asoly treats those as uncertain and sends no notifications for them.

Does Asoly write my metadata into App Store Connect?

Not yet. Asoly plans the metadata for you — which keyword belongs in the name, the subtitle and the keyword field, and how many characters each one has left — but you still paste the result into App Store Connect yourself. A direct connection is the main item on the roadmap, so today Asoly needs no API key and no Apple ID.

Can my AI assistant use Asoly?

Yes, with Asoly Pro. Asoly speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients can read your rankings, history and suggestions, and research, measure or track keywords when you ask them to. It is off until you turn it on under Settings ▸ Assistants, runs over a local connection on your Mac, and deletes nothing. Asoly itself contains no AI; your assistant sends what it reads to its own provider as part of your conversation. Codex picks it up from ~/.codex/config.toml with the command /Applications/Asoly.app/Contents/MacOS/Asoly --mcp.

What does it cost, and can I cancel?
