Local MCP — give your AI native access to your Mac's apps
Local MCP (LMCP) is a native macOS Model Context Protocol server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP-compatible AI client read and act on the apps you already use — no API keys, no OAuth, no admin approval. Everything runs on your Mac.
Install (macOS 13+, free)
curl -fsSL 'https://local-mcp.com/install' | bash
or npx -y local-mcp@latest setup. Auto-configures Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code.
What it connects your AI to
Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, iMessage, Notes, Safari, Finder, Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Outlook, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Google Drive, Notion, Zoom, OmniFocus, Microsoft To Do, Stocks, Weather, and Office docs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/PDF).
Teams, Slack and WhatsApp are read from each app's local desktop data — no Graph API, no tokens, no admin consent. Anything the AI sends is preview-and-confirm.
Where your data goes
- Desktop / CLI clients (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code): on-device — nothing leaves your Mac.
- Web AIs (ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Grok, Perplexity): reach your Mac through an optional, opt-in encrypted relay.
