Werify
officialYour WhatsApp history in Claude and ChatGPT: search years of chats, voice notes transcribed.
What can you do with Werify MCP?
- Search conversations — Find a WhatsApp conversation by name or list the most recent ones in your archive.
- Read transcripts — Pull a conversation's messages newest first, paging through older history with a cursor.
- Full-text message search — Search inside one conversation across message text and transcribed voice notes, optionally limited by date.
- Browse attachments — List a conversation's attachments by type and date, each with a link the assistant can fetch.
- View images — Show image attachments to the assistant directly in clients that support the widget.
- Check connected numbers — See which WhatsApp numbers are linked to your account and whether capture is funded.

Documentation
A hosted WhatsApp MCP server
MCP access to your own WhatsApp archive — years of history, media in place, and the voice notes already transcribed. Nothing to self-host, no terminal, no bridge running on your laptop.
The archive, not the inbox
Most WhatsApp MCP servers do the same job: read what is arriving now, send, schedule, draft replies. They are remote controls for the present. This one is the opposite — a source for the past. It goes back as far as your archive goes, and every voice note in it is searchable text rather than an audio file an assistant cannot open.
The tools
- search_conversations — find conversations by name, or list the most recent.
- get_conversation — read a transcript, newest first, a page at a time via a cursor.
- search_messages — full-text search inside one conversation, across message text and audio transcripts, scopable by date.
- list_attachments — list a conversation's attachments, by type and date, each with a link the assistant can fetch directly.
- get_attachment_file — a short-lived link that downloads one attachment without logging in.
- view_attachment_images — shows image attachments to the assistant itself, through a widget, in clients that support it.
- list_connected_numbers — the WhatsApp numbers connected to your account, and whether capture is funded.
- list_capturable_chats — the chats on a connected number that can be captured, searchable by name.
These actions require the write permission, named on the consent screen you approve when connecting:
- send_message — send a text into a conversation you actively capture, from your own number.
- connect_whatsapp_number — connect a WhatsApp number by pairing code, which only you can finish on your phone.
- start_history_preview / stop_history_preview — measure a chat's earlier history on the phone, before or after capturing it, and show what each period brings in before anything is charged; or stop measuring.
- start_live_capture / stop_live_capture — start receiving a chat's new messages from today onwards, or stop, keeping what was captured.
- start_history_capture — capture a chat's earlier history from the day you agreed to, with or without its new messages. When your assistant can show a form, Werify asks you to confirm there first.
- use_balance_for_capture — after a number's subscription ends, keep capturing it on the balance your account already holds.
- choose_chats_to_capture — shows you a number's chats to tick the ones to capture and start them, in assistants that support it.
Reading asks nothing beyond connecting. Older tool names keep answering for assistants that still call them. Acting is the write permission you approve when connecting, and it is bounded: it can send a text into a conversation you actively capture — rate-limited to protect your number, every message archived —, connect a WhatsApp number by pairing code that only you can finish on your phone, start or stop receiving a chat's new messages, capture only the earlier history you reviewed and approved, and keep a number capturing on your account's balance after its subscription ends, when you choose to.
Clients
Claude connects as a custom connector, with OAuth — this is the path our customers actually use every day. ChatGPT installs Werify as a published app from its plugin directory, with the same sign-in. The one place it does not reach is ChatGPT's Deep Research, which only speaks the fixed search/fetch shape.
Authorisation is per account and revocable from your settings. The assistant can use features already available to your account.
