Connect your assistant
In ChatGPT or Claude, add a connector. If the setting is labeled MCP, use that. Paste this address:
https://app.takibibase.com/mcp
The assistant opens Takibi to sign in. Log in as usual, including the emailed code if you use two-factor, and you land on the connect screen.
Connect from Grok in the terminal
Add Takibi as a server in Grok's terminal app:
grok mcp add --transport http takibi https://app.takibibase.com/mcp
Then tell it where to sign in. Open ~/.grok/config.toml, find the [mcp_servers.takibi] block, and add this line:
oauth_client_id = "https://app.takibibase.com/.well-known/oauth-client/grok"
Open /mcps in Grok, choose the Takibi server, and sign in when the browser window opens. From there, pick the profile it acts as.
Know what it can do
The connector is read-only. It cannot change or delete anything in your workspace. It has three tools:
| Tool | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ask Takibi | Answers one question in a single collection, with the passages it used and how well they support the answer. |
| List Takibi collections | Names the collections and folders that profile can open. Tag-only access is left off this list. |
| Get Takibi document | Fetches the text of one document that profile can read. |
Takibi reads that profile's access on every request, so narrowing it or pausing the profile applies to the next one. A question also stops once the profile has used its daily limit.
Disconnect an app
Open Settings → Security and find Connected apps. Each row names the app and the profile it acts as. Choose Disconnect to cut its access at once.
Connecting the same app again opens the connect screen with the last profile already selected. Choose Allow to use it, or pick a different profile.
