SaturnSQL

Hosted remote MCP server with OAuth. Query PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, BigQuery, ClickHouse and Redshift from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, read-only by default per connection, with a shared team query library. No local process, and no connection string in a config file.

MCP server

Hosted database MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Ask Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or any other MCP client something like "how many customers have this feature enabled?" and it queries your live database for the real number, not a guess. SaturnSQL runs the MCP server at mcp.saturnsql.com, so there's no config file or local process to run.

How it works

No local MCP process, no connection string in a config file.

1

Connect your database

Add a connection in SaturnSQL, same as the editor uses.

2

Add the server URL

Paste mcp.saturnsql.com/mcp into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code.

3

Approve access with your SaturnSQL account. No API key to copy.

Not a separate product

It's the same connections, the same shared query library, and the same row-limited, validated execution the SaturnSQL editor uses, just exposed as tools instead of a UI.

Common questions

Is this different from the built-in AI SQL editor?

Yes. The AI SQL editor is AI inside SaturnSQL's own editor. The MCP server is the reverse: it puts SaturnSQL's database access inside Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or whatever MCP client you use. Use whichever fits how you work; both hit the same data.

Does it run queries automatically?

Your AI client decides when to call the tools, and most clients ask you first. Queries are row-limited, and on a connection in read-only mode (the default for new connections) every query must be a single SELECT, WITH or EXPLAIN statement.

What plan do I need?

The MCP connector requires the Starter plan or higher. Install MCP checks this when you click it, so you'll see an upgrade prompt on Free rather than a broken connection later.

What can't it do through it?

Billing, users, and account settings are rejected outright. For defense in depth, pair the connection with a read-only database user.

Which MCP clients does this work with?

Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Windsurf, and any other MCP-capable client connect the same way. Step-by-step setup: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code. Clients without OAuth sign-in can use a named API key from the Install MCP dialog.
