Reps: Gym Workout Log is a workout tracker for iPhone and Android. Connect it to ChatGPT or Claude and the assistant can see your workouts, records, routines and plans; when you ask and confirm, it saves a routine or a whole plan. Reps runs an MCP server, and changes reach the app at the next sync.

Before you start

• A Reps account — or make one while you connect. Sign in with the email address you use in the app. If you don't have an account yet, the sign-in page offers to create a free one, and afterwards shows you where to get the app.
• Claude: on the web or in the Claude app. In a Team or Enterprise organisation, an owner may need to allow Reps first.
• ChatGPT: on the web or in the ChatGPT app. Whether you can install plugins depends on your plan and country; in a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin may need to allow Reps.

Claude

Reps is in Claude’s connector directory, so you don’t need the server address.

Add Reps to Claude

1. On the Reps page in the directory, select Connect to Claude.
2. The Reps sign-in page opens. Enter your email and the 8‑digit code we send you, or continue with Apple or Google.
3. In a chat, open + → Connectors, turn on Reps and ask about your training.

Add it once and it works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app and in the mobile app.

Prefer to add it yourself? Use a custom connector

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
2. Name it Reps and paste the server address as the URL.
3. Click Connect next to Reps. The Reps sign-in page opens — enter your email and the 8‑digit code we send you, or continue with Apple or Google.
4. In a chat, open + → Connectors, turn on Reps and ask about your training.

Custom connectors need a Claude plan that allows them. On Team and Enterprise, an organisation owner adds them.

Claude Code

One command in your terminal:

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick reps and sign in in your browser.

ChatGPT

Reps is in the ChatGPT plugin directory, so you don’t need the server address.

Add Reps to ChatGPT

1. On the Reps plugin page, select Install plugin, then Connect.
2. The Reps sign-in page opens — enter your email and the 8‑digit code we send you, or continue with Apple or Google.
3. In a chat, type @Reps and ask about your training. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before anything is saved. Can’t install Reps from the directory? Use Developer mode
4. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
5. Open Plugins, select + and create an app: name it Reps, paste the server address and choose OAuth. Then sign in on the Reps page.
6. In a chat, choose Developer mode from the + menu and select Reps.

Developer mode works on the web only, with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education.

What the assistant can do

Reads

Your workout history, records, exercise progress, routines, plan and exercise library.

Saves

A new routine, a routine edit, a whole plan and custom exercises — only after you confirm in the chat.

Won’t

Log a workout for you, or delete your account or your workout history.

Try asking

• “How have my squats gone over the last three months?”
• “Build me a 4-day strength plan and save it in Reps.”
• “In my Push routine, swap the dumbbell press for an incline press.”
• “How did last week go, and what should I train today?”

Privacy

The assistant only gets what it asks for, and only while you chat with Reps turned on. That data goes to Anthropic or OpenAI under the terms of your account with them — unlike the AI coach in the app, which runs under our agreement and never trains models on your data. Disconnecting

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Plugins, choose Reps and select Disconnect. In Claude, remove the connector in its settings. Either way the assistant stops using Reps. To revoke every connection at once, email [email protected] — or delete your Reps account, which ends all of them immediately.

Questions

The assistant can’t see today’s workout.

The app sends your data every few minutes and whenever you open it. Open Reps on your phone and ask again.

A plan saved in the chat isn’t in the app.

It arrives with the next sync — within a few minutes, or straight away when you open the app.

Does the assistant see my password or sign-in code?

No. Reps has no password — you sign in with a one-time code on our page, and the assistant never sees it. It receives only the training data it asks for.

Which assistants work?

Any assistant that can add a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in. We test with Claude and ChatGPT.
