PlanLimits MCP server

Remote, read-only, no auth. Streamable HTTP endpoint: https://planlimits.app/mcp

8 tools: list_plans, get_tool_plans (tool_id), get_recent_changes (since?), recommend_plan (budget_usd, use?), route_task (plans: [{plan, state}], task?): which of your plans to use now, a fallback, reset windows, rationale and a weekly rotation (same logic as /router/), can_afford_task (plans: [{plan, state?}], size?, current?, task?): go, wait or switch for a task, with the plan to use, reasons and reset windows (size: small, medium or large; same data as /api/v1/budget), pick_plan (interface?, budget_usd?, usage?, who?): the cheapest plan that fits, with reasons and up to 3 alternatives (same logic as /picker/), get_service_status (provider?): live outages and open incidents from official vendor status pages (same data as /status/). Every response includes source links and checked dates.

Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "planlimits": {
      "url": "https://planlimits.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http planlimits https://planlimits.app/mcp

Codex

Add to ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.planlimits]
url = "https://planlimits.app/mcp"

Local MCP server (your own usage)

The planlimits CLI runs a local stdio MCP server with get_my_usage and route_me, auto-filled from your Claude Code and Codex CLI logs.

Test with curl

curl -s https://planlimits.app/mcp -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'

Usage is measured by tool name, time and coarse client family only; no IPs or personal data are stored.

Need more than the free server? A paid tier for teams (Slack/webhook alerts, change history, higher API/MCP limits) is being considered. Join the teams waitlist; the free server stays free.
