DotCodex Connect
Paid MCP connector that lets dot read and continue existing local Codex chats and retrieve replies on an online Apple silicon Mac. The setup skill is free; the connection service is proprietary.
Documentation
Connect with help from Codex.
Your purchase belongs to your ChatGPT account. The setup guide is free to download; using the service requires a verified purchase.
Let Codex help you install.
Copy this message into Codex on your Mac. It will prepare setup and help connect your account. You only handle required sign-in and approval steps.
No need to download the skill ZIP yourself.
Use Codex on the Mac you want to connect. If your client cannot add custom MCP servers, setup cannot finish there. The assistant will tell you what remains.
Prefer manual setup?
1. Use your purchase account.
Use the same ChatGPT account on this website, in the plugin and in local Codex.
2. Add Dot Codex Connect.
This service is not yet in the public plugin directory. In a client that supports custom MCP servers, open Plugins β + β Add custom MCP server. Enter Dot Codex Connect, use the server address below and select OAuth. Complete account consent yourself.

Your application must support custom MCP connections. If this entry is unavailable, the skill will explain the limitation instead of claiming it installed the service.
3. Connect your Mac.
Open the connector on your own Mac. Sign in and approve the Mac connection in the browser it opens. Once authorized, it finishes setup automatically. It keeps a background connection at login; you can disconnect it from the account setup page when no task is running or unresolved.
The preview download supports Apple silicon Macs. macOS may require you to approve opening this independently distributed app. Keep system protections enabled and complete that prompt yourself.
After setup, ask Dot to check account access and Mac status. Only then choose a conversation and authorize a task. Installing the skill, linking a Mac and purchasing access are separate steps.
