What the connection can do

Every tool is a thin wrapper over the same routes the ASOClimb web app uses, so results, plan limits and provenance labels are identical whichever surface you ask from. Rankings and listing facts come from storefront observations; traffic, difficulty, KEI, visibility and opportunity scores are models and are labelled as such in every response.

Typical requests once connected: "Which of my tracked keywords moved this week?", "Inspect the keyword habit tracker in the US App Store", "Show the top free Productivity apps in Germany", "What is the keyword gap between my app and this competitor?", "Analyse the niche sleep sounds on Google Play".

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

Claude connects through OAuth: you sign in to ASOClimb and approve the workspace, and no key is typed anywhere. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows one.

  1. Open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector. (Team and Enterprise: an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors first.)
  2. Name it ASOClimb, enter the server URL https://asoclimb.com/mcp and click Continue.
  3. Under Authentication choose Sign in now; under OAuth client choose Register automatically. Click Add.
  4. Sign in to ASOClimb with Google or Apple if asked, choose whether to allow write access, and click Allow. Read-only tools then run without a prompt; tools that change the workspace or spend allowance ask first.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects a remote MCP server as an app in developer mode, on the web, with a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education account.

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Click Create app next to Advanced settings, name it ASOClimb, enter https://asoclimb.com/mcp and choose OAuth as the authentication.
  3. Sign in to ASOClimb when the approval page opens and click Allow. Then pick ASOClimb in a chat to use it.

Checked 1 November 2026 against OpenAI: ChatGPT developer mode.

Grok

Grok accepts custom MCP connectors on grok.com and completes the server’s OAuth sign-in. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin provisions the connector first.

  1. Open grok.com/connectors, click New Connector and select Custom.
  2. Enter https://asoclimb.com/mcp, then sign in to ASOClimb on the approval page and click Allow.

Checked 1 November 2026 against xAI: Grok connectors and xAI: OAuth for custom connectors.

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or.cursor/mcp.json in a project). Cursor registers itself and opens the ASOClimb sign-in when a tool is first used.

Add to Cursor (one click)

mcp.json

{ "mcpServers": { "asoclimb": { "url": "https://asoclimb.com/mcp" } } }

Codex

Add the server from the command line (or in ~/.codex/config.toml), then sign in.

Add the server

codex mcp add asoclimb --url https://asoclimb.com/mcp

Or in ~/.codex/config.toml

[mcp_servers.asoclimb]
url = "https://asoclimb.com/mcp"

codex mcp login asoclimb

Checked 1 November 2026 against OpenAI: MCP in Codex.

With an API key instead of OAuth

Clients that send fixed headers can use a workspace API key from Account → Developer in ASOClimb instead of signing in. A key can be read-only.

mcp.json

{ "mcpServers": { "asoclimb": { "url": "https://asoclimb.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ark_live_…" } } } }

Official MCP Registry

ASOClimb is published in the official MCP Registry as com.asoclimb/aso, so clients that browse the registry (VS Code, GitHub Copilot and others) can install it by name.

Registry entry

What you approve, and what it costs

A connection is scoped to one workspace and to one of two permission levels, which you choose on the approval page. workspace:read lets the assistant read tracked apps, keywords, ranks and history, saved inspections, competitors, charts and usage. workspace:write additionally lets it track or untrack apps and keywords, add competitors, and run keyword inspections, autocomplete and niche analyses — the live checks that count against your plan’s monthly allowance.

Each tool call is one API request against the plan’s monthly API allowance, exactly like a request made with an API key; protocol traffic (listing tools, pings) is free. Usage per connection is shown under Account → Developer, where any connection can be disconnected. Access tokens expire after an hour and are refreshed automatically; refresh tokens expire after 30 days without use.

ASOClimb Wow Keywords tools

ASOClimb Wow Keywords starts from an app instead of one keyword: it gathers candidates per country from the listing, its competitors and the store’s own suggestions, scores each one, and writes listing variants that fit the store’s limits. The work runs on ASOClimb’s servers, so the assistant needs no AI or store access of its own. Free includes 1 run a month with up to 3 countries per run; Pro includes 20 runs a month.

Example prompts:

  1. Run ASOClimb Wow Keywords for my app in the US, Germany and Japan, then show me the three variants with the most coverage.
  2. Explain the scores of "meditate" on Google Play in the US for my app, part by part.
  3. Save the first rule-based variant of my last Wow Keywords run as a draft.
  4. How did my Wow Keywords terms move since I applied the draft?

About Wow Keywords How the scores are calculated

wow_keywords_run · Start a Wow Keywords run

Changes the workspace or spends allowance: clients ask first.

Start an ASOClimb Wow Keywords run for an app: finds candidate keywords per country from the listing, its competitors and the store's own suggestions, scores them and writes rule-based listing variants (title, subtitle and keyword field, or Play title and short description), plus AI-written variants when use_ai is true. Spends one Wow Keywords run from the monthly plan allowance. Returns a run id; poll wow_keywords_status. Runs on ASOClimb's servers; no AI or store access is needed on your side.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
application_idstringNoA tracked application id (from list_applications). Either this, or bundle_id + store.
bundle_idstringNoBundle id, package name or store link, when the app is not tracked.
storeapple_app_store | google_playNoStore, with bundle_id.
storefrontsarray of objectsYesCountries to run. Free: up to 3 per run.
use_aibooleanNoAlso write AI variants (validated against the same store rules; counted against a separate monthly AI allowance).

wow_keywords_status · Wow Keywords run status

Read-only.

Status and progress of a Wow Keywords run (queued, running, done, partial, failed), without the full result; without run_id, the workspace's recent runs. Read-only; spends nothing.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
run_idstringNoRun id from wow_keywords_run.

wow_keywords_get · Wow Keywords run result

Read-only.

The full result of a finished Wow Keywords run: per country, the scored candidates with their score breakdowns and top apps, and the listing variants with character counters, checks and modeled coverage before/after. Popularity, difficulty, relevance and opportunity are modeled 0-100 indexes, not store-reported search volume. Read-only; spends nothing.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
run_idstringYesRun id.

wow_keywords_apply_draft · Save a Wow Keywords variant as a draft

Changes the workspace or spends allowance: clients ask first.

Save one variant of a finished Wow Keywords run as a metadata draft of the tracked application, and record the current ranks of the run's terms as the baseline for weekly reports. Writes a draft only: nothing is published to the App Store or Google Play. Counts against the monthly draft-save allowance.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
run_idstringYesRun id.
countrystringYesCountry of the variant, e.g. US.
variant_idstringYesVariant id from wow_keywords_get.
namestringNoOptional draft name.

wow_keywords_report · Wow Keywords weekly reports

Read-only.

Weekly Wow Keywords reports for an application, newest first: rank change of each baselined term since the variant was applied, new top-10 terms, terms no longer ranked, and the applied draft's modeled coverage. Read-only; spends nothing.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
application_idstringYesApplication id.

score_keyword_explain · Explain a keyword score

Read-only.

Explain one keyword's Wow Keywords scores: popularity (autocomplete A, ratings R), difficulty (ratings Rt, title match T, quality Q, big publishers B), relevance to an application (lexical L, competitors C, embedding E) and opportunity, with the top apps and store suggestions. Popularity, difficulty, relevance and opportunity are modeled 0-100 indexes, not store-reported search volume. Read-only: answered from the cache when possible, otherwise one cached store check (a small daily allowance); it never spends a monthly run. Runs on ASOClimb's servers; no AI or store access is needed on your side.

InputTypeRequiredDescription
keywordstringYesKeyword.
application_idstringNoOptional: score relevance against this tracked application (its store and country are the defaults).
storeapple_app_store | google_playNoStore (default apple_app_store).
countrystringNoISO country code (default US).
languagestringNoLanguage code (default: the storefront's own).

Example: a real run, dated

Prompt: “Run ASOClimb Wow Keywords for com.calm.android on Google Play in the US, then show me how it scored "meditate" and the rule-based variant with the most coverage.”

Real output, trimmed: a run for Calm - Sleep, Meditate, Relax (com.calm.android) on Google Play, United States, made on 1 November 2026 on the ASOClimb preview deployment. Shown: 1 of its 70 scored candidates (3 of 10 top apps) and 1 of its 6 variants.

Popularity, difficulty, relevance and opportunity are modeled 0–100 indexes, not store-reported search volume. Opportunity = popularity × (100 − difficulty) / 100 × relevance / 100; here 82 × (100 − 69) / 100 × 90 / 100 = 22.9, shown as 23.
