RhinoRank

The RhinoRank AI Connector lets Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants, including tools running on your own computer such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI, look up our packages and prices, place and manage orders on your RhinoRank account, and give you the payment link for an order, from inside your AI chat.

What you'll need

  • A RhinoRank account. Sign up here, or create one while connecting. Ordering through an assistant starts once your email address is verified.
  • An AI assistant that can add an MCP server, such as Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT (on ChatGPT plans that allow custom connectors), Codex, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, or Gemini CLI. One account can be connected to several at once.

Connect your assistant

Add the server URL to your assistant, then sign in to your RhinoRank account and approve the connection. The steps for each assistant are below.

Server URL

https://app.rhinorank.io/mcp

Every assistant uses this one address. Most sign in to Rhino Rank and ask you to approve the connection; your password is never shared with the assistant. Tools that can't sign in use a personal API key instead.

  3. Paste the block above into MCP configuration and click Save MCP configuration.
  4. Add an Agents secret named COPILOT_MCP_RHINORANK_KEY holding your key.

The cloud agent uses tools without asking you first. Orders it creates stay unpaid until you pay through the link.

Other tools

Any MCP client, script or API

Tools that only take a headerAPI key

Authorization: Bearer <your API key>
  1. Create a personal API key on your AI Assistants page.
  2. Send it with every request to the server URL as the header above, or as X-API-Key: <key>.

One account can be connected to several assistants at once.

Tools without sign-in

Some tools can't sign in with RhinoRank, such as Perplexity, GitHub Copilot's cloud agent and the Grok API. For those, create a personal API key on the AI Assistants page of your RhinoRank account and send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>. Keys expire after 30, 90 or 365 days, or never, and you can revoke them there at any time.

The connector uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You are always signed in to your own RhinoRank account — the assistant never sees your password. You can revoke access at any time: disconnect it on the AI Assistants page of your RhinoRank account (or under Connected AI assistants on My Profile), or remove the connector inside your assistant.

What the assistant can do

Once connected, your assistant has 22 tools. They act only on your RhinoRank account. Five of them only read; the other seventeen change something on your account or send a message, and what each one changes is described below.

Look up (read-only)

search_packages

Lists what we sell with prices in your account currency: individual links, the Curated Links packages (Package One to Five) and press releases, including which niches are restricted. Can be filtered by product type, price range and bundle.

get_my_account

Returns your username, profile, billing and invoice details, billing currency and order VAT rate.

list_my_orders

Lists your recent orders, newest first, with their status, amounts and dates.

get_order_status

Reports the current status and total of one order or saved quote, the payment link while an order is still unpaid, and the references of a press-release order's releases.

get_release_draft

Reads the press release draft waiting for your approval: its version, headline, subheadline and body.

Quote and order backlinks

preview_draft

Prices a package or link and extra individual links of the same product as one order through extra_lines, as on the website, and saves the quote for a limited time. For Curated Links and Guest Posts the quote includes our anchor text guidance. It creates no order and takes no payment.

create_pay_later_order

Turns a saved quote into an unpaid order on your account, with your link details, and returns a signed payment link. Nothing is charged until you pay on the payment page.

Change an unpaid order

add_lines_to_order

Adds backlinks, with their link details, to an unpaid order and recalculates its total.

edit_line

Changes the target URL, anchor text, niche or other details of one line on an unpaid order.

delete_line

Deletes one line from an unpaid order. An order keeps at least one line.

apply_coupon

Applies a promo code to an unpaid order and recalculates its total.

remove_coupon

Removes the promo code from an unpaid order and recalculates its total.

cancel_order

Cancels an unpaid order. A paid order cannot be cancelled this way; our support team handles that.

Managed Service (monthly subscription)

create_managed_service

Sets up a monthly link-building subscription for one website (minimum 250 a month in your account's billing currency: £ for UK accounts, $ otherwise) and returns a Stripe Checkout link. The subscription starts when you pay there. An account manager then contacts you to build the first proposal.

Press Releases (one-off distribution)

create_press_release

Creates an unpaid order for one or more press-release packages (Essential, Growth, Authority) and returns a signed payment link; payment is upfront. The order is refused unless you have confirmed, after reading the list of refused categories (gambling, adult, cannabis, alcohol and tobacco, weapons, high-risk finance, miracle health products and others), that neither your site nor the announcement falls in one.

save_release_details

Saves the details the newswire requires for a release you have paid for: company, dateline city and country, category, media contact, spokesperson, and your answer to the restricted-category question.

submit_release_brief

Submits the brief once the details are saved, which starts the writing. Three modes: self (you write the brief), rhino (we send you story options and write the one you pick), or copy (you supply the finished release).

approve_release_draft

Approves the draft you have read, by its version. This is final: the release goes to the newswire and is published publicly, starting within one working day.

request_release_draft_changes

Sends the draft back to our writers with your feedback. You get an email when the revised draft is ready.

Account details

update_my_account

Changes your name, billing and invoice details with your approval, and records the change in your activity log. Email address, country and password changes stay on the account page.

Contact and feedback

contact_support

Send a message to the Rhino Rank team for you, when you ask.

send_feedback

Report a problem or suggestion about the connector.

The payment link that Claude or ChatGPT hands you opens the RhinoRank payment page (or Stripe for subscriptions) — never a third-party checkout. You pay on https://app.rhinorank.io or the official Stripe domain directly.

Security & privacy

  • OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The assistant never sees your password.
  • Your account only. The connector acts only on the account you signed in with. It cannot read or change anyone else's data.
  • What it receives. The connector receives the inputs your assistant sends to a tool, such as an order number, a target URL or a change to your billing details, and the name and version of the assistant app when it connects. It does not receive your conversation.
  • What is recorded. Each successful change made through the connector is recorded in our activity log, together with the inputs the assistant sent. Our product analytics receives only which tool was used and its outcome, such as the order number, never those inputs.
  • How long it is kept. Records of changes made through an assistant are kept with your account's history and are not deleted automatically. To ask for a copy of your data or to have it deleted, email hello@rhinorank.io.
  • Tokens. Sign-in tokens are stored hashed. You can revoke them at any time: disconnect the assistant on the AI Assistants page of your RhinoRank account, or remove the connector inside your assistant.
  • Personal API keys are stored hashed, expire on the date their owner chose (or never), and can be revoked at any time on the AI Assistants page.
  • Payments are external. Every payment link resolves on https://app.rhinorank.io or Stripe — Stripe and PayPal handle the card capture directly, not the AI assistant.
  • Rate-limited. Requests are limited per token and per address.

See the AI assistant section of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Troubleshooting

The connector prompt keeps redirecting me to the sign-in page

Make sure you're signed in to your RhinoRank account in the same browser before starting the connector flow. The OAuth handshake requires an authenticated session to confirm you're the account owner.

My assistant says my email address is not verified

You can connect before you verify, but until then your assistant can only look things up. Click the link in the verification email we sent you. The same connection can then place orders; you don't need to connect again.

I approved, but Claude says "connection failed"

Try removing the connector inside Claude and adding it again. The most common cause is a stale authorisation code that expired between the browser handshake and Claude retrieving the token.

How do I revoke access?

Sign in to RhinoRank, open AI Assistants and click Disconnect next to the assistant. That revokes its tokens on our side straight away. You can also remove the connector inside your assistant. Changing or resetting your password disconnects every assistant.
