Documentation
What is an MCP server for AI video generation?
An MCP server for AI video generation is a hosted tool that lets an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor make finished videos from a chat prompt. You describe the video. The assistant calls the server. The server writes the script, picks a voice, renders the visuals and captions, and hands back an MP4.
The AITuber MCP server runs at mcp.aituber.app. You add that one URL to your client and sign in. There is nothing to install and nothing to update. New accounts start with 100 free credits, no card needed.
- Works in: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Notion AI, OpenClaw, Hermes, and any other MCP client.
- What it can do: write scripts, browse 1,300+ voices, generate videos and clips, check credits, export MP4s, and publish to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
- What it costs: the server is free. Video generation uses AITuber credits, and a 30-second Short with AI images is about 35 credits. See pricing.
1
Copy the server URL
Use this URL to connect AITuber to your client.
https://mcp.aituber.app
2
Pick your client
Choose where you want to create videos. The setup below updates for that client.
3
Follow the steps for Claude
Claude Add it once as a connector. It works in Claude Desktop, claude.ai, and Claude Code.
- Open Settings → Connectors in Claude Desktop or on claude.ai.
- Click Add custom connector and paste the server URL.
https://mcp.aituber.appCopy Copied - Click Connect and sign in with your AITuber account. The connector also appears in Claude Code automatically, so there is nothing else to set up.
Prefer the terminal
Claude Code can add the same server from the command line. Sign in with /mcp after it is added.
claude mcp add --transport http aituber https://mcp.aituber.app
Headless or CI
When nobody can sign in, Create an API key and pass it as a header. Same server URL.
claude mcp add --transport http aituber https://mcp.aituber.app \ --header "Authorization: Bearer ak_your_key"
ChatGPT Custom connectors need developer mode. Then you sign in with your browser.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode. Custom connectors need it.
- Go back to Connectors, click Create, name it AITuber, and paste the server URL.
https://mcp.aituber.appCopy Copied - Sign in with your AITuber account when the browser window opens. Then pick AITuber from the tools menu in any chat.
Codex One entry in your Codex config file, then a browser sign-in.
- Add the server to ~/.codex/config.toml.
[mcp_servers.aituber] url = "https://mcp.aituber.app"Copy Copied - Start Codex and sign in with your AITuber account when it asks.
Headless or CI
Create an API key so the agent never needs a sign-in.
[mcp_servers.aituber] url = "https://mcp.aituber.app" http_headers = { Authorization = "Bearer ak_your_key" }
Cursor One entry in mcp.json, then a browser sign-in.
- Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json for just one.
{ "mcpServers": { "aituber": { "url": "https://mcp.aituber.app" } } }Copy Copied - Open Settings → MCP. Cursor shows a Needs login prompt on the AITuber server. Click it and sign in with your AITuber account.
Headless or CI
Create an API key and add it as a header so Cursor never asks you to sign in.
{ "mcpServers": { "aituber": { "url": "https://mcp.aituber.app", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ak_your_key" } } } }
Notion AI Added as a Notion connector. A workspace admin may need to allow it first.
- In Notion, open Settings → Connectors. On a team workspace, an admin may need to allow custom connectors first.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it AITuber, and paste the server URL.
https://mcp.aituber.appCopy Copied - Sign in with your AITuber account, then mention the connector in Notion AI chat to make videos from your notes.
OpenClaw Runs on its own. Follow the two steps below.
- Create an API key.
- Add the server to your OpenClaw MCP config with the key as a header.
{ "mcpServers": { "aituber": { "url": "https://mcp.aituber.app", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ak_your_key" } } } }Copy Copied - Restart the agent. It can now create, export, and publish videos on its own.
Hermes Runs on its own. Follow the two steps below.
- Create an API key.
- Add the AITuber server to the MCP section of your Hermes agent config, with the key as an Authorization header.
{ "mcpServers": { "aituber": { "url": "https://mcp.aituber.app", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ak_your_key" } } } }Copy Copied - Reload the agent and ask it for a video. It handles the rest on its own.
You're connected. Just ask.
No API calls to remember. Describe the video you want.

What is an MCP server for AI video generation?
It is a hosted tool that gives an AI assistant the ability to make videos. You add the server URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client, then ask for a video in plain words. The server writes the script, picks a voice, renders visuals and captions, and returns a finished MP4.
Which MCP server is best for AI video generation?
It depends on what you want back. AITuber returns a finished, narrated video with captions from one prompt, and it can publish that video for you. Model servers such as fal.ai or Replicate return raw clips that you still have to edit, voice, and caption yourself. If you want a finished video, use AITuber. If you want raw footage to cut yourself, use a model server.
Can Claude generate videos with an MCP server?
Yes. Add https://mcp.aituber.app as a custom connector in Claude Desktop or claude.ai and it also shows up in Claude Code. Then ask Claude for a video. It can write the script, pick a voice, create the video, export the MP4, and publish it to your channel, all in one conversation.
How much does AI video generation over MCP cost?
Connecting the server is free, and every new AITuber account gets 100 free credits with no card. Videos use credits: a 30-second Short with AI images is about 35 credits, and longer videos or AI clips cost more. Paid plans start at $39 a month for 2,500 credits.
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools. The AITuber MCP server gives your assistant video tools: it can write scripts, browse 1,300+ voices, generate videos and AI clips, check credits, export MP4s, and publish to your channels.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The server is hosted at https://mcp.aituber.app. You add that one URL in your AI client and sign in. There is no local server, no npx command, and nothing to keep updated on your machine.
Which AI clients are supported?
Claude (Desktop, claude.ai, and Claude Code), ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Notion AI, OpenClaw, Hermes, and any other MCP-compatible client. Every one of them uses the same URL: https://mcp.aituber.app.
Do I have to set Claude up twice for Claude Code?
No. Add the connector once in Claude Desktop or claude.ai and it shows up in Claude Code automatically. You can add it from the terminal with claude mcp add instead if you prefer, but you never need both.
Is it safe? What permissions does it have?
The server only works with your own AITuber account. It cannot read your files, your browser, or your other tools. Your AI client asks for approval before it runs an action.
Does it update automatically?
Yes. The server is hosted and always runs the latest version. New voices, templates, and tools appear without you doing anything.
