FAQ

Is the TickerMint API free?

Yes, for personal projects, research, hobby and non-commercial bots, with a visible link back to the TickerMint page the data came from. No key is needed. Showing the data inside a commercial app, site or tool needs API Pro ($49 a month) or API Business ($149 a month). Commercial projects that already used the free API before October 2, 2026 keep the old terms until January 1, 2027. Reselling the raw prices as a feed, or standing up a competing price API, is not allowed on any plan.

What are the rate limits?

120 requests a minute per IP on read endpoints with no key, lower on search, scanning and login. Developer keys get 600 a minute, API Pro 1,200 and API Business 3,000, and every paid plan opens the bulk endpoints. Public reads are cached at the edge for an hour, so polling faster than that returns the same numbers.

What data does the API return?

Daily TCGplayer market and low prices per printing since February 2024 (Yu-Gi-Oh since September 2026), all-time highs and lows, movers, set lists with totals, sealed product, deck costs and base rates. Card pages on tickermint.cards also show prices by condition, recent sales and eBay asking prices for graded copies; those appear on our own pages only and are not in the API, the archive or the MCP server.

How do I use it from ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant?

Add https://api.tickermint.cards/mcp as a remote MCP server (in ChatGPT: Settings, Security and login, Developer mode, then Plugins and the plus button; in Claude: Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector; in Perplexity: Account settings, Connectors, Custom connector). It exposes search_cards, card_price, price_history, most_valuable, movers, all_time_highs, all_time_lows, sealed_prices and set_prices, plus the search/fetch pair ChatGPT expects. No account or authentication.

Can I download all the price history at once?

Yes. The archive is every daily price since February 2024 for all six games as gzipped CSV: $99 for research and internal use (30-day link) or $299 for the business edition (a fresh weekly build for 12 months). Neither may be resold or redistributed.
