15 habits for a healthier life: a numbered list of 15 habits over a soft photo
From a list to a vertical video
The same renderer makes the list clips of Daily Chart Facts. One command turns a sourced list into a 14 s clip at 1080 by 1920: the whole list holds still so a viewer can pause and read, over CC0 museum photos that pan and cross-fade, with licensed music under it.
Chrome draws the text once and ffmpeg moves the photos under it, so this clip rendered in 17 s on a 4-core server.
Sources: WHO (physical activity 2020, healthy diet 2020, processed meat 2015, alcohol 2023, hypertension) and CDC (sleep), named in the clip.

Make your own card
- Add the Live Card tool to your assistant with the address above. It needs no key and no sign-up.
- Open a template, or copy its HTML. Each one is a single self-contained file: inline CSS and SVG, no image or font from the web.
- Ask your assistant: "Change this Live Card template to show my numbers, then render it with Live Card." It sends the HTML as
cover_htmlandmotion_htmland gives you the four links.
The call arguments file is the exact JSON we sent to render_live_card for that card: 1080 by 1440, 3000 ms at 30 frames a second, and the still at 2900 ms, the last stable frame.
How the cards are built
- One file is both the still and the animation. Everything moves in the first 2 seconds and holds still for the last second, so the final frame is a full cover.
- Motion is plain CSS: keyframes for entrances, a stroke reveal for lines, scale from a baseline for bars, and
@propertyintegers that count up to the sourced number. The renderer plays them on a virtual clock, so frame n is drawn at exactly n times 1000/30 ms. - Fonts the renderer ships: Inter (100 to 900, and italic), Instrument Serif (and italic), JetBrains Mono and Noto Color Emoji. Name them in font-family; nothing is downloaded by the card. A card that names no font gets Inter, and an emoji in any font draws in Noto Color Emoji.
- Every number on a card comes from the source named at its foot, with the date it was published.
What you download
- MP4: the one to send. 1080 by 1440 H.264 at 30 frames a second, with its index at the start of the file so it plays before it has fully loaded. It plays in chat apps, on X and on TikTok, where a GIF or a Live Photo shows as a still.
- Live Photo: a plain zip with 2 files of the same name, the JPEG still and the QuickTime MOV. It is not a.pvt bundle, which only a Mac can open, so it unzips on Windows and Linux too. The 2 files share one content identifier, so Photos on a Mac or an iPhone keeps them as one Live Photo when you import both together.
- GIF: 540 by 720, 15 frames a second, for a README or a web page.
Every still is the last frame of its video, drawn by the same HTML at 2.9 s, so the cover in a feed and the motion never disagree.
