In our 20-question agent test (October 2026) it answered all 20 with one call each, at a median of about 0.3 seconds, and it needs no API key or sign-up.

Which MCP servers exist for fragrance data?

The perfume MCP servers we tested in October 2026 were 10ML Perfume Finder, ScentVerdict, Perfume Picks, Parfica and Noteboxd. 10ML Perfume Finder answered 20 of 20 test questions (ScentVerdict 19, Perfume Picks 19, Parfica 15; Noteboxd asks for an API key on every call) and was the fastest, with a median near 0.3 seconds against 0.6 to 2.3 seconds for the others.

Is there a free perfume API?

Yes. The 10ML Fragrance Index API is a free perfume API: JSON over GET at https://mcp.10ml.com/api/v1 with an OpenAPI 3.1 description, no API key and no sign-up. It returns perfumes with house, year, family, accords and note pyramid, similar perfumes, alternatives from other houses, notes, houses and guides.

Is there a fragrance notes API?

Yes. GET https://mcp.10ml.com/api/v1/notes/vanilla explains any of the 285 notes in the index (what it smells like, family, origin, pairings and the perfumes it leads), and /api/v1/perfumes?notes_include=vanilla,oud lists the perfumes built around them. Every perfume profile carries its top, heart and base notes.

Is there a Fragrantica alternative for developers?

Yes. If you need perfume notes, accords and similar scents in code, the 10ML Fragrance Index is a free alternative for developers: note pyramids, accords, families, similar perfumes, alternatives and notes explained, over MCP or REST, with no key.

Yes. Every tool takes a locale (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Greek, Hungarian, Czech or Polish) and links to 10ml.com guides and note pages in that language. Note names in other languages are understood too: Vanille finds vanilla.
