Permission Levels

Each tool in the following tables lists the lowest permission level required to call it. Two controls must permit a call: the roles assigned to your Equinix Customer Portal account, and the permission level you select when you connect a client. The issued token grants the intersection of the two. For more information, see Permissions Model.

Level	Description Viewer Searches and lookups. Makes no changes. Operator Viewer access, plus modification of existing resources and attach or detach operations. Manager Operator access, plus creation of resources. Ordering a port or a Cloud Router is billed at the same rate as ordering one in the portal.
Viewer	Searches and lookups. Makes no changes.
Operator	Viewer access, plus modification of existing resources and attach or detach operations.
Manager	Operator access, plus creation of resources. Ordering a port or a Cloud Router is billed at the same rate as ordering one in the portal.

Use the narrowest permission level that covers the work. A client connected with Viewer cannot change resources, regardless of the roles assigned to the account.

The server publishes no delete tools. No permission level, including Manager, can remove a connection, port, Cloud Router, or network.
