Common questions

Does my data leave my network?

No. B1 Bridge runs entirely on your local machine. The MCP connection is between Claude Desktop and your SQL Server — both on your network. No data is sent to external servers beyond your normal Claude Desktop usage.

What about SAP B1 on HANA?

B1 Bridge supports SQL Server only. SAP HANA uses a more restricted database access model that doesn't allow the same direct connectivity that makes B1 Bridge possible on SQL Server. There are no plans to support HANA at this time.

Does it work with SAP B1 Cloud?

It depends on your hosting provider. If they give you direct SQL Server access (a connection string), B1 Bridge works. SAP-hosted cloud running on HANA is not supported.

Why is it per seat?

B1 Bridge installs on Claude Desktop, which is a per-user application. Each person who wants to query your SAP data needs their own license. Volume pricing is $39/seat for 10+.

Is my data safe?

B1 Bridge operates in read-only mode. All write operations (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) are blocked at the tool level. Your SAP data cannot be modified through B1 Bridge.
