Prerequisites
- Node.js 18 or higher
- MySQL server installed and running
- A database with appropriate permissions
Setup

Clone this repository:

Install dependencies:
npm install -
Create a
.envfile in the root directory with your MySQL connection details:MYSQL_HOST=localhost MYSQL_USER=your_username MYSQL_PASSWORD=your_password MYSQL_DATABASE=your_database -
Build the server:
npm run build
Installation
For Claude Desktop
Add the server config to your Claude Desktop configuration file:
On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Usage Examples
Once installed, you can use the MySQL MCP server in your conversations with Claude:
List all tables in the database

Development
For development with auto-rebuild:
npm run watch

Use the MCP Inspector to debug the server:

The Inspector will provide a URL to access debugging tools in your browser.
