XFileSharing: AI MCP mod
Connect your site to Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI clients. With this mod your users can browse, organize and manage their files straight from an AI chat — no need to log in to the member area.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to external services. Once enabled, each user gets a personal MCP endpoint URL to add as a custom connector in their AI client of choice, which then guides them through sign-in and authorization.

Full user control over access
MCP access is disabled by default. When a user turns it on, they choose:
- which operation groups AI clients may perform — browse & read, organize, delete, upload and download links can each be enabled independently;
- which folders are visible to AI clients — their entire account, or only specific folders (and their sub-folders).
Nothing is exposed to any AI client until the user explicitly shares at least one folder or their whole account.
How it works
- The user enables MCP access and sets allowed operations and folders in their account settings.
- They copy their personal MCP endpoint URL.
- They add it as a custom connector in their AI client (e.g. Claude), which walks them through sign-in and authorization.
From that point on, the AI assistant can manage their files directly from the chat — safely, and only within the limits the user set.
