Space
Persistent memory for AI agents. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients save and recall decisions, documents and tasks in one shared, encrypted workspace, and every memory links back to its source
Documentation
Same context,wherever you work.
Your memory lives in Space, not on one computer. Every agent you authorize reads and writes the same workspace over MCP.
Illustrative example. Agents only see what you authorize, and every memory keeps a link to the conversation or document it came from.
Connect once.Then just work.
One MCP connection per machine. After that your agents save and retrieve context on their own, and you keep the final say on what stays.
-
Connect any agent
Paste one MCP connection into Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, Cursor or any MCP client, on each machine you use. -
Work as usual
Your agent saves decisions, documents and next steps as you go. Nothing to copy between sessions. -
Switch machine or agent
The context is already there. Inspect it, correct it or delete it in the web app whenever you like.
Connects over the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cline
Add Space to Codex
codex mcp add space --url YOUR_MCP_URL --oauth-client-registration dcr
Your Space shows this line with its address filled in, ready to copy.
Running on a VPS?Connect with a code.
A bot on a server, such as Hermes or a Grok bot on a VPS, has no browser for the sign-in redirect. Give it one prompt instead of an MCP command, and it connects with a six-digit code.
- Paste one prompt Copy it from the Agents page in Space and paste it into the agent.
- Enter the code The agent shows a six-digit code. Type it on the Connect page in Space.
- Approve the access Choose read or write. The agent finishes the connection on its own.
You paste
Connect to my Space MCP server with a device code. Do not open a browser and do not wait for a redirect.
Your agent replies
Enter this code on the Connect page in Space:
482 913
Connected. No browser on the server.
One memory for every agent. Not one per tool.
Built-in memory stays inside one product. Your own retrieval is yours to build and run. Space is one memory every agent you connect can read, and it tells the agent when nothing matched, so there is no reason to guess.
| Built-in memory | Your own retrieval | Space | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared by every agent you connect | Inside one product | If you build it | Yes |
| The same on every machine | Varies by product | If you build it | Yes |
| Read, correct and delete each memory | Varies by product | If you build it | Yes, in the web app |
| Tells the agent when nothing matched | Varies by product | If you build it | Yes |
| Servers to run | None | Yours | None |
Building your own is a fair choice. The hard parts are keeping each person’s memory separate, searching it without decrypting it, and recall that says when nothing matched.

All the pieces. One place to return.
A quiet workspace for the things that matter. Read a plan, find the next step, and follow the context back to its source.
Documents
The work behind the words.
Plans, research, and decisions, with saved revisions you can return to.
Tasks
Something to pick up next.
Keep the next step close to the context behind it, on a board or a list.
Memory
Small details. Lasting context.
Preferences and decisions, saved with their sources and organized your way.
Your categories.Context that belongs.
Create categories such as Dev or Accounting and describe what belongs in each. Space files new memories into the right category and project, and you can correct any assignment.

Memory text is encrypted before it is stored. Search ranks an index of it, so finding a memory never decrypts your whole Space.

Agent fundamentals
Claude Code memory: CLAUDE.md, auto memory, and when to use an external store
Every Claude Code session starts with a fresh context window. Two built-in layers carry knowledge forward, and they are easy to confuse. Knowing which one owns a fact, and where both stop, makes the setup easier to trust and to check.
Agent fundamentals
Codex memory: native memories, AGENTS.md, or an external workspace
Codex can carry context in several ways that are easy to confuse. Separating instruction files, generated local memories, and external workspaces makes each one easier to choose and to check.
Building with agents
One agent, many workspaces: where shared memory fits
An agent can work across a business without carrying every project's assumptions into every task. Here is where workspaces, skills, and Space each help.
Pick the roomyour work needs.
Every plan includes encrypted storage, memory your agents can recall, and the tools to read, correct and export it.
