Is Desloppy's score proof that someone used AI?

No. It's a probability. Detectors can flag human writing, especially short texts, plain styles and non-native English. Use it to find passages worth rewriting, never as evidence against a person.

Which languages does it check?

English, for now. Text in other languages gets no score and uses none of your words.

What files can I upload?

Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx, including speaker notes), PDF,.txt and.md, up to 15 MB and 20,000 words per check. Scanned PDFs and images have no text to read, so they can't be checked yet.

Do you keep my text?

No. Text is checked in memory and dropped when the result is sent. We store your email, scrambled copies of your keys and sign-in tokens, your passkey's public key if you add one, and how many words you've used. Visitors who don't sign in are counted by a scrambled copy of their network address.

Will Desloppy write it for me?

Desloppy tells you what to change. Inside Claude or ChatGPT, your assistant can rewrite the flagged lines for you, but Desloppy's rules tell it to keep your facts and voice and to ask you for real details instead of making them up.

How accurate is it?

It catches a lot, not everything. In our tests it flagged most AI-written text and called 0.3% of hard human texts "likely AI". It's weaker on very short texts and on the newest models tuned to sound human, which a new version trains on every week (it only goes live once it beats the current one in our tests). That's why it shows you the exact lines and why, so you can judge for yourself.

What counts as a "word"?

Words run through the AI score. Quick fixes (the instant phrase and pattern checks) are free and don't use your words. A before/after compare counts both texts. Signing in gives you 5,000 free words, one time; paid plans reset every month.
