Detailed setup for your client

Financial research shouldn't require a Bloomberg terminal

Every day, thousands of SEC filings hit EDGAR. Insider trades. Quarterly earnings. Material events. The data is public, but reaching it means juggling websites, downloading PDFs and copying numbers into spreadsheets.

With the Earnings Feed MCP server you can ask your AI instead: “What did Jensen Huang sell this month?” or “Show me Apple's latest 8-K filings.”

Insider transactions

Know when executives buy and sell

Form 4 filings show when company insiders (CEOs, CFOs, directors and 10% owners) trade their own stock.

Ask your AI about insider activity at any public company. Get transaction dates, share counts, prices and calculated dollar values, without digging through SEC forms.

You ask

“What insider activity happened at NVIDIA this month?”

Your assistant answers

I found recent insider transactions at NVIDIA:

  • Mark Stevens · Director sold 222,500 shares at $180.17 $40.1M
  • Donald Robertson Jr · Principal Accounting Officer sold 24,590 shares at ~$180 $4.4M
  • Jensen Huang · CEO transferred shares to irrevocable trust 9.1M shares

Stevens and Robertson sales are 10b5-1 plan transactions. Huang's is a trust transfer, not a sale.

Filings

Never miss a material event

8-K filings report significant corporate events: earnings announcements, acquisitions, leadership changes and dividend declarations.

Your AI can scan recent filings for any company and point out what matters, so a buried 8-K does not get lost behind the 10-K.

You ask

“Did Apple file anything important recently?”

Your assistant answers

Here are Apple's recent SEC filings:

  • 8-K · Current Material event disclosure filed View
  • 10-K · Annual Annual report for fiscal year 2024 9.3 MB
  • Form 4 · Insider Jeffrey Williams sold 100,000 shares at ~$250 $25M

The 10-K contains full financial statements and risk disclosures.

Research

Scan your watchlist in seconds

Open-market buying by executives is rare. Most insider activity is scheduled 10b5-1 sales, RSU grants or tax withholding, and knowing the difference matters.

Ask your AI to check several companies at once. It queries each one and summarizes what is actually happening, including when the answer is “nothing unusual.”

You ask

“Any insider buying at the big tech stocks this month?”

Your assistant answers

I checked AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, META, AMZN, and NVDA. No open market purchases—here's what I found:

  • NVDA · Mark Stevens Director sold 222,500 shares $40.1M
  • META · Javier Olivan COO has weekly sales ~$330K each 10b5-1
  • MSFT · Directors RSU grants and tax withholding only No sales

No executives using their own money to buy. All activity is scheduled sales or compensation grants.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

MCP is Anthropic's open standard for connecting AI assistants like Claude to external data sources. Instead of copy-pasting information, your AI can query databases, APIs, and services directly. The Earnings Feed MCP server gives your AI access to SEC filings from EDGAR. We check EDGAR every minute. Half of filings appear within two minutes of SEC acceptance, and 9 in 10 within five (median 114 seconds, Sep 24-30, 2026).

Which AI tools support MCP servers?

Claude Desktop, Claude Code (CLI), Cursor IDE, ChatGPT, VS Code with Cline extension, and Windsurf all support MCP. Any tool that implements the Model Context Protocol can connect to our server.

What SEC data can I access through the MCP server?

You can search the forms we keep: 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, 6-K, S-1, 10-D, insider Forms 3, 4 and 5, Schedules 13D and 13G, 13F and Form 144, with their amendments. Insider transactions come back as parsed data. 13F holdings tables are not available through MCP yet. Not covered yet: proxy statements (DEF 14A), shelf offerings (S-3, 424B), Form D and fund filings.

How does authentication work?

The MCP server uses OAuth 2.0 authentication through Clerk. When you first use the server, your AI client will open a browser window to sign in with your Earnings Feed account. After that, authentication is automatic. No API keys to manage or rotate.

Is the MCP server free to use?

Yes. Free accounts get 15 requests/minute and 5,000 requests per UTC month. Pro subscribers ($15/month) get 60/min and 250,000/month; Trader subscribers ($75/month) get 300/min and 2,000,000/month. MCP tool calls share the account-wide allowance with API keys and interactive docs. Monthly limits are hard caps and reset at the start of each UTC calendar month.

How do I set up the MCP server?

Most clients take under 60 seconds to set up. For Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors and paste our URL. For Cursor and VS Code, add a config file. For Claude Code, run a single terminal command. See our setup guide for step-by-step instructions for your client.

Can I use this for automated trading or alerts?

The MCP server is designed for interactive AI research, not automated trading systems. For programmatic access with webhooks and higher rate limits, consider the Earnings Feed REST API instead.

What's the difference between MCP and the REST API?

MCP is for AI assistants—you ask questions in natural language and your AI queries the data. The REST API is for developers building applications with programmatic access. MCP uses OAuth; the API uses API keys.
