Other assistants
Anything that can add a remote MCP server can use it: the address above, transport Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Menu names move around, so look for "Connectors" or "MCP" in settings.
- Cursor: with Cursor installed, one click adds it: Add to Cursor If Cursor opens without an install prompt: Customize → MCPs → New MCP Server, and add
"stay-cost-brain": {"url": "https://staycostbrain.com/mcp"}inside"mcpServers". - Grok: grok.com/connectors → New Connector → Custom, paste the address above; Grok finds the tools itself.
- Perplexity (Pro, Max or Enterprise): Settings → Connectors, add a custom remote connector with the address above and no authentication.
- Mistral Le Chat: in Connectors, add a custom MCP connector with the address above (the free plan too).
- Gemini Enterprise: a workspace admin adds it as a custom MCP server (Streamable HTTP, no authentication).
- Cline, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP clients: add a server named
stay-cost-brainwith"url": "https://staycostbrain.com/mcp"in the client's MCP settings.
If your assistant can't add servers, ask it anyway: every place page and llms-full.txt are open for it to read and cite.
What the tools answer
| Tool | What it answers |
|---|---|
| tourist_tax | The tax for one stay, night by night: each tax separately, the amount or range, nights charged, how it's paid, announced changes, source and date. |
| place_rules | Every rule for one place: rates by type of stay, seasons, caps, exemptions and sources. |
| list_places | Every researched place with today's headline rate and the date it was checked. |
| hotels_link | A link to live hotel prices for the dates and guests, where the person books. |
| get_capabilities | What is covered, how figures are sourced and what the tools don't do. |
Towns we haven't researched come back as not researched, with no figure.

Citing us
Link the place's page: it has every rate, the official source and the date we checked it. Say the figure is the published rate, not a quote: the accommodation charges what is in force on the night. Hotel links may earn us a commission; that never changes a tax figure (how we earn).
