The Pastes.io MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and other Model Context Protocol clients create, read, search and delete pastes on your account. Connect it once and ask for a link to a log, a diff or a snippet in plain language.

Connect in one click

Desktop buttons open the app if it is installed. Each client asks you to sign in to Pastes.io and approve the connection.

Add it by URL

Any client that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the URL https://pastes.io/api/mcp. Add it as a custom connector or an HTTP server, and the client sends you to Pastes.io to sign in and approve the connection. No API key is needed.

The approval screen shows the address Pastes.io will send you back to. Only approve a request you started, from a destination you recognize.

Skip the browser sign-in

On a server, in CI, or anywhere a browser sign-in is awkward, authenticate with an API key from your profile instead. In Claude Code:

Clients that take a JSON server list accept the same URL with an Authorization header. Keep the key out of shared or committed config files.

What it can do

Tool	Description
create_paste	Create a paste from text, code or logs and return its link.
get_paste	Read a paste by slug or pastes.io link, with a password if it has one.
list_pastes	List or search your own pastes, newest first.
delete_paste	Permanently delete a paste you own.
get_account	Show your plan and how much of your allowance remains.

Same rules as the API

Tool calls share your account's API limits: paste creation limits per plan, and a daily read and search allowance on the free plan. Free pastes expire after one month; Pro can choose other expiries.

Pastes created through MCP are unlisted: anyone with the link can read them. Ask your assistant to add a password to anything sensitive. Pastes go through the same moderation as pastes created on the site.

Revoke access at any time

Applications you approved are listed under Connected applications in your profile. Disconnecting one stops it immediately. To stop a client that uses an API key, delete the key.
