Shop Nobi

Shop Nobi is an online search engine you can connect to Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, ChatGPT and other remote MCP clients. Its current MCP connection searches product listings from curated online stores. It does not yet search service listings or every online offering. A result can include a seller, price, stock signal, image and click-through link when those details are available.

Shop Nobi does not sell anything. Every purchase happens on the store's own website.

Key Benefits

• Search in plain words: Describe what you want with the details that matter, such as size, color, material or budget, and get matching products from many stores at once.
• Shop Nobi pages: For popular searches like "leather boots", Claude or ChatGPT can share a Shop Nobi page that lists great options from many stores with a short buying guide.
• No account needed: There is no sign-in, password or API key.
• Read only: Shop Nobi only reads product information. It never buys anything, takes payments or sees your orders.

Claude

1. Open Settings, then Connectors. Search for Shop Nobi and click Connect.
2. To connect it somewhere else instead, use a client that accepts a custom remote MCP server, such as Claude Code, with https://api.nobi.ai/v1/shop/mcp?source=nobi_docs. No Shop Nobi sign-in is needed.
3. Ask a shopping question, such as "find me a linen dress for a summer wedding under $150".

ChatGPT

1. In ChatGPT's apps directory, search for Shop Nobi. Click Connect and review the tool permissions.
2. Ask ChatGPT a shopping question.

Claude Code

The Shop Nobi plugin adds the connector and a shopping skill to Claude Code. The skill helps Claude search, pick gifts and compare products.

1. In your terminal, run claude plugin marketplace add Locusive/shop-nobi-claude-plugin.
2. Then run claude plugin install shop-nobi@locusive.
3. Start Claude Code and ask a shopping question. The first time Claude uses Shop Nobi, it asks you to allow the tool.

Gemini CLI

1. Run gemini extensions install https://github.com/Locusive/shop-nobi-gemini-extension.
2. Run gemini mcp list to confirm the Shop Nobi server is connected.
3. Ask Gemini to find a product and review its tool-use prompt. The extension source is public. A gallery listing is not yet verified.

Cursor

1. Use the direct Cursor MCP install link, or add the server address above in Cursor's MCP settings.
2. Confirm the connection in Cursor and approve tool use when prompted.
3. Ask its agent for a product search. The direct link installs only the MCP connection. A reviewed Cursor marketplace listing and an in-app installation test are not yet verified.

Other MCP clients

Use remote Streamable HTTP with https://api.nobi.ai/v1/shop/mcp?source=nobi_docs. Discover tool schemas with tools/list; no Shop Nobi account or API key is needed. The client may require its own sign-in or tool approval. For an example configuration and VS Code steps, use the Shop Nobi setup page.

Product and variant identifiers

Shopify product and variant IDs must be accompanied by the selling merchant's domain, supplied as storeDomain, for example example.com. Never put a Shopify ID or SKU into a Nobi id, productId or variantId field. Nobi IDs identify our own catalog records; source IDs and SKUs are resolved within a merchant.

For direct Shopify lookups, use sourceProductId or sourceVariantId together with storeDomain only when those arguments appear in the live get_product_details schema. Older schemas accept the Nobi variant ID returned by search. A known Nobi merchantId is an alternative merchant context where the schema supports it. See the complete identifier examples.

Good To Know

• Prices and stock can lag behind the store. A result may omit a price, image, seller or link. Check current details on the store's website before buying.
• Links to stores carry a tag that tells the store the visit came from Shop Nobi.
