The token proves who. The product decides what.

Keeping those two separate is what lets you connect an assistant without handing over the whole workspace. A valid token with no project grant reads exactly nothing.

Project reads

list_projects and get_project. The latter returns the ordered status catalog and the members eligible as assignees.

Task reads

list_tasks filters by status, assignee, and last change, with a cursor and a limit. get_task returns full details.

Note reads

list_notes returns bounded previews with a cursor; get_note returns the whole body.

Task writes

create_task, update_task, and complete_task. The last two require expectedUpdatedAt and fail with a conflict if the record moved.

Note writes

create_note and update_note, with title, body, and pinning. Neither entity has a delete tool.

Idempotency

Every write requires a UUID key. Repeating the call returns the same result rather than creating a second record.

Protected-resource metadata lives at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, and the authorization flow is discovered from there. Access tokens are issued for the endpoint’s own audience.

Identity scopes are openid and email. No scope grants project access: that is an application-level grant, made inside Clean Notes after the login.
