Requirements

• Kondo desktop app must be open — MCP only works while the Kondo app is running on your computer. Install Kondo.
• OAuth sign-in — You'll authenticate with your Kondo account the first time you connect.
• Data privacy — Message data is read from the Kondo app on your computer. Command and response data passes through Kondo's relay in memory and is not stored. Privacy Policy.

Setup

Claude Code

Run this command in your terminal:

Then authenticate by running /mcp in Claude Code and following the sign-in flow.

Claude (web)

1. Go to claude.ai/settings/integrations
2. Click Add more integrations, then Add custom MCP server
3. Enter a name (e.g. "Kondo") and paste the URL:

4. Click Add and complete the sign-in flow

Start a new chat and Kondo's tools will appear in the tools menu.

Claude macOS / Windows App

1. Open Settings > Connectors or Customize > Connectors
2. Click Add Connector and enter the URL:

3. Complete the sign-in flow to connect your Kondo account

ChatGPT

A workspace Admin or Owner must first enable Developer Mode in Settings > Apps > Advanced settings > Developer mode.

1. In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Apps > Create
2. Enter the name Kondo and paste the URL:

3. Click Create and complete the OAuth flow to connect your Kondo account

ChatGPT will show a confirmation prompt before any write action (archive, label, draft, etc.).

Only Admins and Owners can publish apps for the whole workspace.

1. Go to Workspace Settings > Apps
2. Click Drafts, find Kondo, then click Publish
3. Review any safety warnings (Kondo supports write actions like archiving and labeling)
4. Once published, all workspace members will see Kondo in their Apps settings

On Business plans, apps cannot be updated after publishing — you must recreate and republish. Enterprise/Edu plans support updates and RBAC controls.

Cursor

1. Open Cursor Settings > MCP > Add new global MCP server
2. Paste the following configuration:

3. Save and restart Cursor. Complete the sign-in flow when prompted.

VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Create a .vscode/mcp.json file in your workspace:

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P or Ctrl+Shift+P) and run MCP: List Servers to start the server. Complete the sign-in flow when prompted.

Other tools

Kondo's MCP server uses the Streamable HTTP transport. Any MCP client that supports this transport can connect.

Most MCP clients accept a JSON configuration:

Teach your assistant

Once connected, give your assistant the Kondo skill so it knows how to use the tools well: what to ask first, how to pace itself, and what it can and cannot do. Save it as SKILL.md in your assistant’s skills folder, or paste its contents into the assistant’s instructions.

Here's what you can do once connected:

"Draft a follow-up for every chat labeled Lead where I sent the last message more than 3 days ago."	Finds matching chats and saves a draft reply to each. You review and send manually.
"Label all recruiter messages as Recruiter"	Identifies recruiter chats and applies the label.
"Which chats labeled Lead are waiting on my reply?"	Lists chats with that label where the other person sent the last message.
"Go through my chats from the last 3 days and set reminders for anything I need to follow up on."	Scans recent chats and identifies follow-ups.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
No tools appear	Make sure the Kondo app is open.
Tools answer from another computer	Kondo answers from one device at a time. Open Settings > MCP on this computer and click Switch here.
Sign-in fails	Revoke the app in Settings > Account under Connected apps, then reconnect.
Commands stop working	Quit and reopen Kondo, then try again. The app must stay open.

Disconnecting

To disconnect an MCP client, go to Settings > Account, find the app under Connected apps and click Revoke. This immediately revokes access for that client.
