Prometiam Company Data

Company data and KYB for 30+ countries as MCP tools: official registers, directors, corporate events, insolvency, VAT, LEI, financials, sanctions (beta). Demo mode needs no key.

Documentation

prometiam-risk-mcp

Company data for Claude, Cursor, VS Code and any MCP client: company-register records for 33 countries, corporate events, insolvency notices, sanctions screening (beta), VAT and LEI checks and monitoring, as 36 typed tools. One command, no key, no signup. Germany comes from LEI records and the energy market register, not the Handelsregister.

Install it, no key

Pick your client, paste the block and restart it. Without a key the server runs on a shared demo key, so the first tool call answers at once. Company search, records, VAT, LEI and insolvency work on it; corporate events and sanctions screening need a plan, and the demo key is rate-limited for everyone who uses it.

    }
  }
}

Your own key comes with the 14-day free trial: 500 credits, card required, nothing charged for 14 days. An empty value or the placeholder rk_live_your_key_here is ignored and the demo key is used instead.

Hosted endpoint (no install)

The same 36 tools are served over Streamable HTTP at https://api.prometiam.com/functions/v1/mcp: no npx and no local process. Send your own key as Authorization: Bearer rk_live_... (X-API-Key works too). With no key it runs in demo mode on the shared demo key (30 requests a minute and 2,000 calls a day for everyone, the quota the npx demo shares); in demo mode some tools, such as sanctions_screen and events_search, answer upgrade_required. The endpoint holds no data and no secret: each tool call is one API request, priced in credits like the REST call (sanctions screening is beta). Your own key works only from a client that can send a request header.

Check that it works

Ask your assistant:

Search for companies named Inditex in Spain.

It calls companies_search and returns:

INDUSTRIA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL, S.A, NIF A15075062, active, legal form SA, Arteixo, LEI 549300TTCXZOGZM2EY83.

A 401 on the first call means an older prometiam-risk-mcp that sent the placeholder key as a real one. Update it, or remove the env block.

Last checked in Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code: To confirm

Ask it

Prompts that work, the tool each one calls and what came back. Recorded answers were taken on the demo key on 24 Oct 2026, from the endpoint the tool wraps; the MCP server returns the same JSON.

  • “Is VAT number ESA15075062 valid, and which company is it?” Calls vat_validate, company_by_identifier VIES says the number is valid. The register match is INDUSTRIA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL, S.A (BORME), the same company as above. Recorded answer
  • “Look up the LEI 549300TTCXZOGZM2EY83.” Calls lei_lookup INDUSTRIA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL, S.A., jurisdiction ES, entity status ACTIVE, registered at Avenida de la Diputación, Arteixo. Recorded answer
  • “What happened at this company in the last year?” Calls events_timeline The demo key answers 403 upgrade_required: corporate events are not in the free plan, Starter (EUR 9.99/month) includes them. Refused on the demo key
  • “Screen the name Juan Perez against the sanctions lists at threshold 85.” Calls sanctions_screen The demo key answers 403 upgrade_required: sanctions screening (beta) is not in the free plan, Professional (EUR 29.99/month) includes it. A match score is a prompt to review, not a determination. Refused on the demo key
  • “Check these five counterparties for corporate insolvency notices in France and Germany.” Calls insolvency_check One call, 2 credits per name, a status per name. Corporate notices only, fifteen markets. Not recorded here

FAQ

Does the server work without an API key?
Yes. It ships with a shared demo key, so the first tool call answers right after npx. The key is rate-limited for everyone who uses it; when the shared quota is used up, the error tells you how to get a free key.

What does my own key add?
A key of your own is not shared with anyone, and unlocks the paid scopes: people and corporate events from Starter (EUR 9.99/month), sanctions screening from Professional (EUR 29.99/month), financial statements from Scale (EUR 99.99/month). The 14-day free trial gives 500 credits, a card is required and nothing is charged for 14 days.

Which clients does it work with?
Any client that speaks MCP over stdio. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code are configured above; Continue and Cline work the same way.

Can the agent change anything in my account?
Only through monitor_subscribe, monitor_stop, sanctions_watch and sanctions_unwatch, marked as changing your account; every other tool is read-only. Keep the key in the client configuration, never in a prompt.

Does a tool call count against my quota?
Yes. A successful tool call costs credits: 1 for a company search or record, 2 for people, events or insolvency, 3 for each name screened, 25 for one company’s financial statements; errors cost nothing. Batch tools charge every item in the batch.

Is this the same data as the REST API?
Yes. Every tool calls the same endpoint documented in the API documentation and described in the OpenAPI specification.

Why does my client show a 401?
A prometiam-risk-mcp older than 0.4.45 reads the placeholder rk_live_your_key_here as a real key. Update it, or remove the env block to use the demo key.
