What a home inventory app is for

Hoardo is a home inventory app for the stuff you actually store: seasonal decorations, tools, camping gear, kids' clothes, the waffle iron from 2019. You organise by rooms and numbered boxes, then search from your phone. A barcode inventory system at home is a QR label on each box: scan it and the list opens, so you do not unpack it. An inventory app is a list of what you have and where it is. Hoardo is that idea, built for home storage.

• What to catalogue at home

  Start with the things you cannot find when you need them: holiday decorations, sports gear, spare cables, documents, kitchen overflow. Skip the junk-drawer paperclips. A home inventory app earns its keep on the boxes you would rather not open.

• Rooms and boxes

  Make a room for the garage, attic, basement or spare room. Give every box a number (the name is optional). List what goes in by typing, saying it or snapping a photo. Print a QR label so the real box matches the list.

Can I use Hoardo in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Connect the free Hoardo MCP server in Claude, or in ChatGPT on the web (not the mobile app). On ChatGPT, full support including write actions is on Business and Enterprise/Edu; Pro can connect with read/fetch only. Plans are up to OpenAI and may change. It asks before it changes anything.

Can I use Hoardo for packing lists, lending and renting?

Yes. Make a list for a trip, a to-do or the things you lend out. Pick things from your boxes, tick them off as they're packed, and note who borrowed what and when it's due back. Roaming shows everything that's out of its box, and where it goes back to. If you rent things out, a renting list books them by the day and never double-books them. It writes down prices and deposits but never takes payments, and it can go on your rental page, where people can ask for dates.

How do the QR code labels work?

Print a label for each box on plain paper or on standard A4 sticker sheets. Scanning the QR code with your phone's camera opens that box in Hoardo.

Can I share my boxes with my family?

Yes. Invite people to a room and choose whether they can edit it or only look. Everyone sees the same boxes, History shows who changed what, and anything changed or deleted can be brought back.

Does Hoardo work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Hoardo runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Export everything to a CSV file whenever you like. Your data is yours.
