Does the MCP server cost anything or require an API key?

No. The remote endpoint is free to use and does not require an Extrabold Tools account, API token or local server installation.

Does it generate an STL file inside the chat?

No. The server calculates the configuration and returns a shareable Extrabold Tools link. Open that link to inspect the 3D preview, adjust settings and download the model.

Can it make a baseplate fit my specific printer?

Yes. Supply the printer build width, depth and height. For drawer presets, the server automatically enables splitting when the baseplate is too large for the available build plate.
