DroneClear for AI Assistants
DroneClear Thailand runs one public MCP server (Model Context Protocol) that answers what a hobby or holiday drone needs in Thailand: CAAT and NBTC registration, liability insurance, flight limits and restricted areas, each with its source. The same server powers the DroneClear app in ChatGPT, the DroneClear connector for Claude, custom apps in Gemini and our Google Workspace add-on. It needs no account, no login and no personal data.
Where You Can Use It
- ChatGPT: add the DroneClear app from the ChatGPT directory. Open in ChatGPT · How the ChatGPT app works
- Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code): search for DroneClear Thailand in the Connectors directory, or add it as a custom connector: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste
https://www.droneclearthailand.com/mcp?src=claude. No authentication. - Gemini: where your Gemini plan offers custom apps (Settings → Connected apps → Custom apps), add
https://www.droneclearthailand.com/mcp?src=geminias the server URL. - Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive): the DroneClear Thailand Drone Check add-on puts the same check in the side panel. The Marketplace listing is linked here once it is published.
- Any other MCP client (Cursor, Gemini CLI, Codex, VS Code): use the endpoint below. The server is also listed in the official MCP Registry.
Endpoint
Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP, stateless JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTPS POST. Protocol versions 2024-11-05 to 2025-11-25. No sessions, no SSE stream, no authentication, no API key. CORS is open.

The optional src query parameter names the client (chatgpt, claude, gemini, gworkspace or mcp). It only tags the links the server returns, so we can see which assistant brought a visitor. It changes nothing else.
Example configuration for a client that reads a JSON settings file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"droneclear-thailand": {
"type": "streamable-http",
"url": "https://www.droneclearthailand.com/mcp?src=mcp"
}
}
}
Quick test from a terminal:
curl -s -X POST https://www.droneclearthailand.com/mcp \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'
Tools
Both tools are read-only (readOnlyHint: true), idempotent and never call anything outside this site. Every answer carries a short text and a structuredContent object that matches the tool's output schema.
drone_check
Use when someone plans to fly or bring a drone to Thailand. Returns what a hobby or tourist pilot needs, with a public source for every rule, plus an area note for places named in the CAAT airspace publication (Bangkok, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Ko Chang and Ko Kut) and a link to the matching page on this site.
| Input | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
drone_model | string | For example “DJI Mini 4 Pro”. The weight is read from the model page on this site. Give this or weight_g. |
weight_g | number | Take-off weight in grams, if known. |
has_camera | boolean | Adds the privacy rule for camera drones. |
location | string | City or area in Thailand. Places outside Thailand get an out-of-scope answer. |
purpose | enum | leisure_tourism, commercial or unsure. Paid work gets a scope notice and a contact link only; unsure returns the question to ask. |
has_caat_registration | boolean | True if the pilot already holds a CAAT registration and only needs NBTC. |
language | enum | en or de; the answer comes in that language. |
Output fields: scope (hobby_check, commercial_contact_only, needs_input, out_of_scope), requirements[] with rule, source and source_url, area_notes[], service (name and information page, no prices), info_url, contact_url, disclaimer. Invalid input returns isError: true with a one-line reason.
how_droneclear_helps
Use when someone asks whether DroneClear can handle registration or insurance for them. Returns the three services (registration handling for CAAT and NBTC, NBTC-only handling, liability insurance) with a one-line summary and the information page for each. Input: language only. It gives no prices.
What the Server Never Does
- It shows no prices, takes no bookings and handles no payments. Ordering happens on this website.
- It asks for no name, email or passport data and stores no request body. Our server keeps only the standard access log and the
srctag. - It does not write anything: no accounts, no files, no messages, no calls to third-party services.
- It gives information from CAAT publications and this website, not legal advice and not a permission to fly. Check caat.or.th before every flight.
Privacy, Terms and Support
- Privacy policy (section 2, “DroneClear app in AI assistants”)
- Terms & disclaimer
- Support: hello@droneclearthailand.com or the contact form. We answer within one working day (Thailand time).
- Status: the endpoint is checked every five minutes; a failed
tools/listis reported to our team. Current version: 1.3.0 (10 October 2026).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the DroneClear connector free?
Yes. The server is free to use in any assistant and needs no account. DroneClear earns money only when you order a registration or insurance service on this website.
Which assistant gives the best answer?
All of them get the same data from the same server. The wording differs because each assistant writes its own reply around the tool result. If a reply names a rule, the tool result carries the CAAT source for it; ask the assistant to show the source.
Can I use the server in my own app?
Yes, for non-commercial and personal use, under the terms. Keep the source links and the disclaimer in what you show your users, and do not cache answers for more than 24 hours: Thai drone rules change. For anything commercial, contact us first.
Is DroneClear affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google?
No. DroneClear Thailand (BRS Properties Co., Ltd.) builds and runs the server. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI, Claude of Anthropic, and Gemini and Google Workspace of Google LLC. None of them endorses DroneClear.
