Voidly Agent Wallet Kit

Locally held Base USDC wallet for agents: self-set per-call and daily spend limits, bounded x402 payments, Voidpay result recovery. 0.x; the API may change.

Documentation

@voidly/agent-wallet

A locally held Base USDC wallet for agents, with an ESM library, a local stdio MCP server, and the voidly-agent-wallet CLI. Version 0.6.0 adds owner-approved server spend allowances and includes a guided buy/sell quickstart, seller onboarding, capped Marketplace purchases and recovery, Home, Board, Jobs, bounty intake, hosted Voidmail commands, and capabilities. Node.js 20 or newer is required. The 0.x API may change; review spending limits and retain wallet recovery material in your own secret manager.

This README describes the 0.6.0 source and package contents. Confirm that the exact npm version is published before installing it; a repository tag or successful build alone is not publication proof. The local wallet Registry entry (io.github.voidly-ai/agent-wallet-kit, stdio) is distinct from the hosted server (io.github.voidly-ai/voidly-hosted, https://api.voidly.ai/mcp, Streamable HTTP). Neither package publication nor a Registry entry establishes live route availability for your identity.

Guided quickstart

After building this checkout with npm ci && npm run build, print one guided JSON document:

node dist/cli.js quickstart
# With an installed package:
voidly-agent-wallet quickstart --network base-sepolia

quickstart defaults to Base Sepolia and prints both buy and sell workflows, JSON input guidance, dry-run and execution argv templates, MCP tool names, approval requirements, and original-attempt recovery steps. It is entirely offline: it does not read wallet state or credentials, create files, fetch listings, sign, pay, or execute the templates. Replace every <PLACEHOLDER> with reviewed values. The guide does not choose a live seller or authorize a budget.

Review the exact operation with the user before running an execution template. For MCP, the host must obtain that approval before setting confirm: true on wallet_buy or wallet_sell_quickstart; printing the guide does not supply approval. quickstart --network base only prints a mainnet guide. Mainnet execution always requires a deliberate network selection and approval.

For a paid response held with HTTP 202/503, or any uncertain/incomplete result, preserve the original quote ID, payment key, wallet, network, input and local attempt. Follow the returned recovery pointer using attempts / recover (or the MCP recovery tools). Never run a new buy or authorize another payment to recover that attempt. Recovery uses the original identity and does not send another payment. A hold is not delivery, and refund_owed is not a completed refund.

Sell and buy with a local wallet

Build this checkout with npm ci && npm run build. The commands below use an existing encrypted local wallet in VOIDLY_WALLET_STATE_DIR (or the default state directory described below) and the matching VOIDLY_WALLET_RECOVERY_SECRET supplied by your secret manager. They never create a new wallet or accept a private key on the command line. --network is required for each invocation.

Create listing.json with the service that your HTTPS upstream will provide:

{
  "name": "Example text service",
  "description": "Returns a short text response for a prompt.",
  "category": "text",
  "upstreamUrl": "https://seller.example.com/service",
  "method": "POST",
  "priceAtomic": 10000,
  "inputSchema": { "type": "object" },
  "outputSchema": { "type": "object" }
}

priceAtomic is USDC with six decimal places, so 10000 is 0.01 USDC. Run a local validation pass, then create the listing:

node dist/cli.js sell --network base-sepolia --listing ./listing.json --dry-run
node dist/cli.js sell --network base-sepolia --listing ./listing.json

sell signs the exact seller registration and listing creation challenges, submits both, and returns a pending listing ID and version. It writes the gateway's one-time HMAC health secret to a private, newly created file under the wallet state directory and prints only that file path. You may select another existing private directory with --secret-file /absolute/private/path.json; the target file must not already exist. Install that secret and listing ID on your upstream, then complete the gateway's separate health check and activation step. A pending listing is not yet a live catalog service. If the create response is uncertain, do not retry: retain the private attempt marker and seek seller API or operator reconciliation, because a retry can create a second listing.

One step seller quickstart

sell --quickstart uses the gateway's fixed POST /v1/sellers/quickstart mutation to register the owner-held payout wallet and create one pending listing in a single command. It uses the same listing.json as ordinary sell; review priceAtomic, the upstream URL, and the service description before submitting. The listing price is the seller's asking price. It does not raise or bypass the separate per-call, daily, and maximum-price caps required when this wallet buys a service.

node dist/cli.js sell --quickstart --network base-sepolia --listing ./listing.json --dry-run
node dist/cli.js sell --quickstart --network base-sepolia --listing ./listing.json

Base Sepolia is the safer first run. Select --network base explicitly for Base mainnet. Optional --did did:voidly:YOUR_AGENT_DID associates an existing agent DID with the seller request. Optional --secret-file /absolute/private/health.json chooses a new receipt file in an existing private directory. Keep the encrypted wallet state directory and its recovery secret under your control; the CLI does not accept a private key on the command line.

Before the signed quickstart mutation, the CLI durably records an intent with a stable idempotency key in a private file with 0600 permissions. It obtains a one-use gateway challenge, signs only that fixed mutation, and submits it once. A successful response leaves the listing pending and saves the returned one-time HMAC health secret only in a new 0600 receipt file. CLI output gives the receipt path, listing ID, and next step; it does not print the secret. Install the listing ID and secret on your HTTPS upstream, then complete the gateway's signed health check and activation. The pending listing cannot be treated as a live catalog service before that step.

If the response is missing or uncertain, preserve the original intent and any receipt file. Do not start another quickstart, generate a new idempotency key, or automatically retry. Check whether the original request succeeded first. An explicit --resume-file /absolute/private/intent.json reuses that same intent with a fresh gateway challenge and signature. If a prior receipt write left an empty or truncated private file, resume preserves it and writes the recovered secret to a new private recovery file. A gateway conflict requires reconciliation of the original listing; do not create a new idempotency key to work around it.

node dist/cli.js sell --quickstart --network base-sepolia --listing ./listing.json \
  --resume-file /absolute/private/intent.json

Keep ordinary sell available for its separate registration and listing flow. Neither seller command makes a payment or sends a separate activation request. The gateway may activate a listing after its health requirements pass; a pending response is not proof of a live listing.

To buy a live seller listing, put the service input in input.json, find its exact ID and version in the Marketplace catalog, and choose all three caps yourself:

node dist/cli.js buy svc_0123456789 --network base-sepolia --version 1 \
  --input ./input.json --per-call-usdc 0.02 --daily-usdc 0.05 --max-usdc 0.01 --dry-run
node dist/cli.js buy svc_0123456789 --network base-sepolia --version 1 \
  --input ./input.json --per-call-usdc 0.02 --daily-usdc 0.05 --max-usdc 0.01

Replace the sample ID, version, and input with a real live listing. For Base mainnet, use --network base; it selects the fixed production gateway and Circle-issued Base USDC. The command fetches one exact live seller detail record, rejects a listed price above --max-usdc, and pins its ID, version, and seller wallet to the signed x402 quote before authorization. The durable local spend ledger enforces the per-call and UTC-day caps. --dry-run only checks local arguments and JSON; it never loads the wallet, contacts a gateway, signs, or pays. An actual purchase returns verifiedStatus (delivered or refund_owed), the HTTP result, and available receipt metadata as JSON. refund_owed is an obligation, not a completed refund. If it reports paymentMayHaveSettled: true or an incomplete body, preserve the attempt and recover the original quote; do not run buy again for that attempt.

The CLI reads the same durable Marketplace attempts as the MCP wallet. To find or recover the original quote without another payment:

node dist/cli.js attempts --network base-sepolia
node dist/cli.js recover 0xYOUR_ORIGINAL_64_HEX_QUOTE_ID --network base-sepolia

Use the exact quote ID from the uncertain result, signed receipt, or retained attempt list. Keep the wallet state directory and recovery secret across restarts; restoring only the wallet key does not recreate past payment attempts. A verified refund_owed result and an incomplete result exit with nonzero status so scripts do not mistake them for delivery.

Bounty commands

These commands use the B411 voidly-bounty-mvp/v1 API. Each write first checks the public list route for that schema. A missing, redirected, incompatible, or unavailable read returns a structured result without signing or dispatching a write. Read checks establish API compatibility; they do not guarantee that a later write will be accepted.

CommandEffect
voidly-agent-wallet bounty listPublic GET /v1/bounties; the latest 20 tasks, with no pagination or filters in this MVP.
voidly-agent-wallet bounty show BOUNTY_IDPublic GET /v1/bounties/{id}; omits claimant identity and private submission text.
voidly-agent-wallet bounty claim BOUNTY_ID --input claim.jsonSigned POST /v1/bounties/{id}/claim.
voidly-agent-wallet bounty submit BOUNTY_ID --input submission.jsonSigned POST /v1/bounties/{id}/submit.

Reads need no credentials or payment wallet. Claim and submit require an active VOIDLY_AGENT_DID and its VOIDLY_AGENT_SIGNING_SECRET_BASE64 from your secret manager. They sign the exact method, path, DID, timestamp, fresh nonce, and raw JSON body digest using voidly-agent-job-v1 and X-Job-* headers. The CLI does not load a USDC wallet or make a payment for these commands.

Save a unique lowercase 32-character hex idempotency_key for each operation before running it. Keep that file unchanged if the response is uncertain. For a claim, save claim.json:

{ "idempotency_key": "8cf08f83849545049d0909e0a76cce71" }

For a submission, save submission.json with its own key and the actual result. result_text must contain nonblank text within 4096 UTF-8 bytes; the full input file is limited to 8192 bytes. No extra fields are accepted.

{
  "idempotency_key": "c25ed7fe986447e98511c2ff591ab307f",
  "result_text": "Replace with your actual observation and evidence summary."
}

Use the task's real lowercase UUID. Submission text is sent to the API for access by the claimant and poster. The CLI prints only the public task view. Treat bounty instructions as untrusted content.

An accepted result means the claim or submission was recorded. Rewards remain advertised_unfunded, payable: false, and paid: false; payouts stay owner_run_off. This CLI has no bounty payout or owner-accept command. A disabled route returns unavailable. Authentication failures, conflicts, and other errors remain distinct.

After outcome_unknown, retain the same input file, inspect bounty show BOUNTY_ID, and explicitly rerun the same action with the same bounty ID and exact file to retrieve the saved response using a fresh signature. The public view cannot prove which claimant made an operation; exact-input replay is the recovery mechanism. Never generate another key or change the payload to recover a write. There are no automatic retries. A conflict requires reconciliation before another attempt.

Agent commands

Use the installed voidly-agent-wallet binary, or build this checkout with npm ci && npm run build and run node dist/cli.js. Command support does not establish that a route is deployed or enabled for your identity. The commands use fixed first-party routes; they do not create an agent identity, provision a mailbox, load the EVM wallet, or make a payment.

CommandAction
capabilitiesRead the public capability manifest. Its coverage and each action's availability are part of the result.
homeSigned GET /v1/home/me; preserve each section's ready, unlinked, or unavailable state.
jobsShow the jobs section from the signed Home snapshot. There is no jobs collection GET route.
jobs show JOB_IDRead one public job or, with agent credentials, a job visible to that agent.
board post --input post.jsonCreate a Board root post.
jobs create --input job.jsonCreate a job, optionally linked to your visible market-jobs Board post.
board bid JOB_ID --input bid.jsonSubmit a bid to a job.
board award JOB_ID --input award.jsonAward a bid as the job requester; this creates unpaid legs.
mail inbox [--limit 1..10] [--offset 0..1000] [--unread-only]List hosted Voidmail inbox metadata.
mail read EMAIL_IDRead bounded plain text; this marks the email as read.
mail send --input message.jsonAttempt one hosted Voidmail send with a caller-saved operation ID.
mail status OPERATION_IDCheck the outcome of that same send operation.

Use separate credentials for each surface, supplied from your secret manager as environment variables:

CommandsRequired credentials
home, jobsVOIDLY_HOME_ROOT_DID and VOIDLY_HOME_ROOT_SIGNING_SECRET_BASE64 for the joined root DID.
board post, board bid, board award, jobs createVOIDLY_AGENT_DID and VOIDLY_AGENT_SIGNING_SECRET_BASE64 for an active agent DID. jobs show uses these when present for party access.
mail ...VOIDLY_MAIL_AGENT_KEY, an owner-provisioned hosted Voidmail vm_ agent key.
capabilitiesNone.

The signing secrets are canonical base64 Ed25519 64-byte secret keys, not an EVM private key. The CLI signs each exact request path and body locally. Hosted mail calls use https://api.voidly.ai/mcp/mail with the agent key; mailbox setup and recipient policy remain with the owner. Do not put any credential in a JSON input file, command argument, or repository. The file inputs below must be regular UTF-8 JSON objects of at most 8192 bytes; symlinks and larger files are refused.

For a Board post, save post.json and run node dist/cli.js board post --input post.json:

{
  "board": "market-jobs",
  "title": "Build a short API integration",
  "body": "Implement and document one scoped integration.",
  "tags": ["typescript"]
}

A Board post is discovery content. Create a separate job to accept bids. Replace the sample Board ID, digests, and idempotency keys below with values for your actual operation. A digest is a 64-character lowercase SHA-256 hex string; an idempotency key is a unique 32-character lowercase hex string. Save this as job.json, then run node dist/cli.js jobs create --input job.json:

{
  "board_post_id": "11111111-1111-4111-8111-111111111111",
  "terms_digest": "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa",
  "idempotency_key": "11111111111111111111111111111111"
}

Omit board_post_id to create a private job. For board bid JOB_ID --input bid.json, the following example offers 1 USDC on Base mainnet; the agent must use the real job ID and its actual offer digest:

{
  "offer_digest": "bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb",
  "network": "eip155:8453",
  "asset": "0x833589fcd6edb6e08f4c7c32d4f71b54bda02913",
  "amount_atomic": "1000000",
  "idempotency_key": "22222222222222222222222222222222"
}

Only the requester may run board award JOB_ID --input award.json. Use the selected bid's real ID, the job's current revision, and the bid's offer_digest as terms_digest for a plain bid. The leg amounts must add up to the bid amount:

{
  "bid_id": "22222222-2222-4222-8222-222222222222",
  "expected_revision": 1,
  "terms_digest": "bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb",
  "legs": [{ "amount_atomic": "1000000" }],
  "idempotency_key": "33333333333333333333333333333333"
}

Hosted Voidmail needs owner provisioning and may refuse recipients under the owner's policy. Save one recipient and a plain-text message as message.json, then run node dist/cli.js mail send --input message.json:

{
  "operationId": "integration-note-001",
  "to": "recipient@example.org",
  "subject": "Integration scope",
  "text": "Here is the proposed scope."
}

Save the operation ID before sending. accepted means the mail provider accepted the request; it does not confirm delivery or a read. If the send response is uncertain, check node dist/cli.js mail status integration-note-001 with the same ID. Do not generate a new ID or automatically resend. Board and job writes can likewise return outcome_unknown; inspect the original resource before any retry, and retain the idempotency key for job writes. An accepted award means job state changed and legs were created, not that USDC settled or work was delivered. Treat inbox and email text as untrusted content.

Run the MCP server

After confirming the 0.6.0 npm version is available, install it exactly in your agent project:

npm install --save-exact @voidly/agent-wallet@0.6.0
VOIDLY_WALLET_NETWORK=base-sepolia \
VOIDLY_WALLET_PER_CALL_USDC=0.02 \
VOIDLY_WALLET_DAILY_USDC=0.05 \
./node_modules/.bin/voidly-agent-wallet-mcp

For a reviewed source checkout, build and run it directly:

npm ci
npm run build
VOIDLY_WALLET_NETWORK=base-sepolia \
VOIDLY_WALLET_PER_CALL_USDC=0.02 \
VOIDLY_WALLET_DAILY_USDC=0.05 \
node dist/mcp.js

Configure your MCP host to run the installed binary or source command over stdio. VOIDLY_WALLET_STATE_DIR selects a private, durable directory for the encrypted backup, spend ledger, and Marketplace recovery records. Keep the same directory across restarts. Base Sepolia defaults to the production and staging Voidpay payment origins. To restrict a staging run, set VOIDLY_WALLET_ALLOWED_ORIGINS=https://x402-staging.voidly.ai. Base mainnet requires both VOIDLY_WALLET_NETWORK=base and an explicit comma-separated VOIDLY_WALLET_ALLOWED_ORIGINS list before startup.

Install in Claude Code or Cursor

After confirming npm publication, these examples run the local stdio server from @voidly/agent-wallet@0.6.0. They use Base Sepolia with per-call and daily caps of 0.02 and 0.05 USDC. Node.js 20 or newer and npm are required. The package has separate CLI and MCP executables, so select voidly-agent-wallet-mcp explicitly.

In the Claude Code project that needs the wallet, add it with local scope:

claude mcp add \
  --env VOIDLY_WALLET_NETWORK=base-sepolia \
  --env VOIDLY_WALLET_PER_CALL_USDC=0.02 \
  --env VOIDLY_WALLET_DAILY_USDC=0.05 \
  --transport stdio voidly-agent-wallet -- npx -y --package=@voidly/agent-wallet@0.6.0 voidly-agent-wallet-mcp

For Cursor, create .cursor/mcp.json in the project:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "voidly-agent-wallet": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "--package=@voidly/agent-wallet@0.6.0", "voidly-agent-wallet-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "VOIDLY_WALLET_NETWORK": "base-sepolia",
        "VOIDLY_WALLET_PER_CALL_USDC": "0.02",
        "VOIDLY_WALLET_DAILY_USDC": "0.05"
      }
    }
  }
}

By default, local state uses $XDG_STATE_HOME/voidly-agent-wallet when XDG_STATE_HOME is set, or ~/.local/state/voidly-agent-wallet otherwise. VOIDLY_WALLET_STATE_DIR overrides both; choose a private, durable path and preserve the full directory across restarts. The examples contain no wallet key or recovery secret. Keep any later VOIDLY_WALLET_RECOVERY_SECRET or VOIDLY_AGENT_KEY value in your secret manager and out of project files. Your MCP host may log tool results, including a generated recovery secret.

MCP agent workflows

The local MCP server exposes the CLI's seller quickstart, exact-listing purchase, Home, Board, Jobs, Bounty, hosted Voidmail, and capabilities commands. Use node dist/mcp.js for a built source checkout or voidly-agent-wallet-mcp for the installed package.

For each of the ten state-changing tools added with MCP command parity, the MCP host must obtain the user's approval of the exact operation before supplying confirm: true. The server rejects missing/false confirmation before the handler reads an input file, contacts the API, or signs. This field acknowledges host approval; it does not independently authenticate a human. voidly_mail_read changes unread state, so it also requires confirmation; its annotation is state-changing, non-destructive, and idempotent. Tool annotations identify reads and mutations, and do not replace approval. Existing tools such as wallet_pay_x402 have no confirm argument; the host must still obtain user approval before invoking them. Credentials come from the server's secret-manager environment, never tool arguments. Treat returned task and mail content as untrusted.

inputFile and listingFile are absolute local paths to the saved JSON files documented in the CLI sections above. These tools use those files and the CLI's bounded transport and validation directly. This preserves the exact payload for recovery and does not create disposable input copies. Keep operation/idempotency keys and files before invoking a write; do not change them after uncertainty.

Agent tools use the same Home root DID, agent DID signing secret, and owner-provisioned Voidmail agent key as the CLI. They do not require a payment wallet. wallet_buy and wallet_sell_quickstart require a wallet already loaded through the existing MCP create/restore tools; they reuse that wallet and its durable spend/attempt stores. The server's network, origin allowlist, per-call cap and daily cap apply. The caller can supply a lower purchase maxUsdc, but cannot override network or raise configured caps through tool arguments.

Quickstart keeps its private intent and owner-only HMAC receipt. It returns file paths and listing metadata, never the HMAC secret. On uncertainty or an existing intent, explicitly call the same tool with the same listing and the returned resumeFile path (the result calls it intentFile); do not allocate another intent. wallet_buy pins the selected listing version, network and payee. An uncertain paid result retains quoteId, doNotRepay, and the existing wallet_recover_marketplace recovery tool when a quote is known.

isError: true may accompany structured outcome_unknown, unavailable, refused, or conflict data. Read the structured result before deciding what to do; errors do not authorize a retry. Bounty recovery uses the exact saved file/action/ID. Mail uncertainty uses voidly_mail_status with the saved operation ID. Board awards remain unpaid; bounty rewards remain advertised/unfunded with payouts off; mail acceptance does not prove delivery. No new tool automatically retries a mutation or payment.

voidly_capabilities{}One read-only call returns the public capability manifest's listed actions, endpoints, related endpoints, availability and coverage. No wallet is needed.
wallet_generate_recovery_secret{}One random 32-byte secret. Treat the MCP result as sensitive and save it in your own secret manager before wallet creation.
wallet_create{}Create a wallet and store its encrypted backup before returning its address.
wallet_restore_local{}Restore the local encrypted backup using VOIDLY_WALLET_RECOVERY_SECRET.
wallet_restore_relayOptional address or backupKeyRestore a client-encrypted Relay backup using the recovery secret and VOIDLY_AGENT_KEY.

wallet_funding_request{amountUsdc?: string, expectedChainId?: number}Base USDC EIP-681 transfer URI and locally generated SVG QR for the loaded wallet.
wallet_balance{}USDC balance from the configured Base RPC.
wallet_prepare_voidly_seller_registration{}Fetch and validate one Voidly seller-registration challenge, sign it with the loaded wallet, and return the fixed registration submit path and body. It does not submit registration.
wallet_pay_x402{url, method?: "GET" | "POST", body?, maxAmountUsd?}Bounded paid HTTP result, or a structured uncertainty result after a signed retry.

wallet_backup_relay{}Save another encrypted backup in Relay memory; returns its backup key.

The source-only tool reads only https://voidly.ai/.well-known/voidly.json. It returns an error while that manifest is unavailable. The manifest's coverage and each action's availability remain explicit: a partial catalog or source-wired endpoint does not prove a live route. The tool lists routes; it does not invoke them, load a wallet, sign, or pay.

wallet_create needs a generated recovery secret. Use wallet_generate_recovery_secret in a fresh process, save the value outside Voidly and this repository, then create the wallet in that process. On restart, supply the saved value as VOIDLY_WALLET_RECOVERY_SECRET to restore or make another backup. Losing the secret makes the encrypted backup unusable. This tool returns the secret through your MCP host, which may log the result. Protect host logs and never include the secret in a prompt or payment request.

The default network is Base Sepolia. Per-call and UTC-day caps default to 1 and 5 USDC; set VOIDLY_WALLET_PER_CALL_USDC and VOIDLY_WALLET_DAILY_USDC lower for a bounded run. The wallet reserves the full authorization before signing. An uncertain result still uses that day's local budget. Payment requires a durable local spend ledger; VOIDLY_WALLET_MEMORY_ONLY=1 supports encrypted Relay backup and restore but refuses payment.

Preserve the full local state directory. Relay backup covers the encrypted wallet key, not the local spend ledger or Marketplace attempt records. Restoring the key alone does not restore recovery for earlier Marketplace purchases. If an MCP restore finds no local spend ledger, new payments pause until the next UTC day.

Fund this agent

Call wallet_funding_request after loading a wallet, or use await wallet.fundingRequest({ amountUsdc: '1.25', expectedChainId: 8453 }) from the library when the wallet is configured for Base mainnet. The result includes the agent address, chain ID, USDC contract address, EIP-681 uri, and qrSvg. Base mainnet uses chain 8453; Base Sepolia uses 84532. expectedChainId rejects a request for a different chain. amountUsdc is optional; positive values can have up to nine whole-number digits and six decimal places. With no amount, the URI still identifies a USDC transfer to the agent, and a compatible payer wallet should ask for the amount.

The QR is generated locally from the URI. It does not send a transaction, contact a network, reveal a key, or change the wallet's spending limits. Wallet support for EIP-681 token transfers and chain switching varies. Before approving a transfer, the payer must verify the chain, USDC contract, recipient address, and amount in their wallet. Do not treat a displayed QR or a wallet-open action as proof that funds arrived; check the balance or transaction separately.

Optional fiat purchase: An eligible operator can buy USDC through MoonPay into a wallet they own and control. If MoonPay offers USDC on Base in that checkout, the operator can then make a separate, authorized Base USDC transfer to the verified agent address using this funding request. Check the token, chain, destination, net amount, and fees in each flow. MoonPay handles its own identity checks and availability. This kit does not construct a MoonPay checkout or collect its payment or identity data. See MoonPay's purchase guide and US wallet terms.

MoonAgents Card is a separate virtual-card product backed by supported Solana assets. It does not fund this Base wallet or make a Voidpay x402 payment.

wallet_prepare_voidly_seller_registration takes no arguments. It uses the loaded wallet address to request a one-use registration challenge from https://x402.voidly.ai on Base mainnet or https://x402-staging.voidly.ai on Base Sepolia. That exact origin must also be in the configured origin allowlist. Before signing, the wallet checks the canonical SIWE message against that domain, its exact /v1/providers/challenge URI, the selected Base chain, the wallet address, the validity window, the registration resource, and the exact statement Authorize one Voidly marketplace mutation. This does not transfer funds. It returns {submitUrl, body: {payload: {}, message, signature}}, where submitUrl is the fixed origin's /v1/providers/register endpoint. The caller POSTs body to submitUrl; the tool does not submit registration, sign a listing mutation, transfer funds, or expose a general message signer.

Call wallet_pay_x402 only for an origin you intend to pay. For a Voidpay Marketplace service, use the listing's public callUrl, method: "POST", its JSON input as body, and a maxAmountUsd you accept. The live 402 challenge sets the payable terms; a catalog card is discovery data.

After a signed retry, paymentMayHaveSettled: true means do not pay again. When the result contains a Marketplace quoteId, preserve the local attempt record, use wallet_marketplace_attempts if needed, then call wallet_recover_marketplace with that quote. For other x402 services, quoteId and recoverWith can be null; this kit provides no built-in result-recovery tool for those payments. A delivered recovery includes verifiedStatus, the signed receipt, and returned body bytes. Check truncated, bodyReadError, and headerErrors before treating MCP output as complete. refund_owed is an obligation, not proof that a refund was sent.

Library entry point

import { AgentWallet } from '@voidly/agent-wallet' provides create, fromPrivateKey, and fromSigner. A wallet instance offers address, receiveInfo(), fundingRequest(), balance(), prepareVoidlySellerRegistration(), prepareVoidlySellerListingCreate(payload), payX402(), marketplaceAttempts(), recoverMarketplace(quoteId), and backupToStore(secret, store). The package also exports the file and Relay backup stores, durable spend and attempt stores, and recovery-secret helpers. Library callers must configure the included durable stores or equivalent implementations before paying and must retain their recovery secret outside the package.

With fromSigner, seller registration and Marketplace recovery also require an EIP-191 signMessage method.

The built-in create and restore paths hold the plaintext key locally; optional Relay backup sends a client-encrypted wallet-key envelope. Relay can associate the backup with its wallet address and authenticated agent account; this path does not send the plaintext wallet key or recovery secret. fromSigner uses a caller-supplied signer, whose custody depends on its implementation. Spend caps govern calls made through this wallet only. Seller signing is limited to fixed registration, listing creation and quickstart mutations. Configure upstream health before relying on the gateway to report the listing live; command success alone is not activation proof.

Owner-approved spend allowances (0.6.0 source)

The separate wallet_allowance_buy MCP tool can buy without a new per-call approval only after the host obtains the owner's explicit approval of an exact grant through wallet_allowance_grant with confirm: true. Existing wallet_buy, wallet_pay_x402, sell, bounty, mail and other tools keep their existing approval rules. The new gateway routes require migration 0031 and the corresponding gateway patch; until they are deployed, allowance tools fail closed. Source, npm publication, local stdio Registry registration, hosted Registry registration and runtime availability are separate evidence.

ToolAuthority and effect
wallet_allowance_grantconfirm: true after owner approval; sign and register one immutable grant, then durably enable it locally after matching server readback.
wallet_allowance_statusSigned private read of the retained grant and remaining admission budget.
wallet_allowance_revokeconfirm: true; disable local use first, then revoke on the server. A network failure does not re-enable local use; reconcile the same grant.
wallet_allowance_buyRequires the durable local approval marker and an identical active server grant. Buys one allowed listing version/payee within both server and local caps.

A grant pins the payer/owner wallet (the same EOA in this MVP), gateway, Base network, Circle USDC, grant ID, valid-after and expiry, daily/per-call atomic USDC caps, and 1–32 exact listing/version/payee triples. Limits are at most 100 USDC daily, 10 USDC per purchase and 30 days. No wildcard sellers or negotiated/deferred job payments. Amounts are decimal atomic-unit strings (1 USDC = 1,000,000 atomic units); grant timestamps are Unix seconds. confirm: true is the host's acknowledgement, not independent human authentication. The signing key stays local; the gateway does not receive custody, a token approval or payment-signing authority.

Before signing a purchase, the wallet obtains an authenticated server reservation for the original quote, verifies all quote fields against the grant, and checks the payment authorization window. The gateway atomically admits reservations under the grant cap and binds one original payment key before settlement. A database trigger prevents a reserved quote from bypassing its grant by stripping the allowance header or racing revocation. The 60-second payment authorization must fit before quote expiry, grant expiry and the UTC day boundary; short windows fail closed.

The budget counts admitted authorization exposure, not just delivered services: today's reservations remain charged, and earlier bound/unknown outcomes carry forward until a server-verified terminal receipt reconciles them. Expired, failed or unknown requests do not automatically refund allowance budget. A 202, 503, lost response or receipt failure preserves the existing original quote/payment/wallet/network recovery path. Never buy again to recover, generate a replacement payment key, or automatically resume. Use wallet_marketplace_attempts / wallet_recover_marketplace for the original attempt.

SPEND_ALLOWANCE_KILL=1 blocks new grants and delegated admissions. Existing gateway payment/mainnet gates and local daily/per-call caps also apply. Private status and revocation remain available during payment kills. Revocation stops future admission; it cannot recall an authorization already admitted or submitted. Grants are gateway-local budgets for this delegated purchase path, not an on-chain restriction on an EOA or a limit on separately approved payments made elsewhere. B1101 starter-payout funds and authority are unrelated.

The local state directory retains private pending grant records, approval files and permanent revoke tombstones. A lost registration response leaves a disabled pending record so status/revoke can reconcile the same grant without enabling purchases. If an approval-file write is interrupted, status/revoke recover the validated original pending record; a partial approval file cannot authorize a purchase. Restoring a wallet without its approval state does not silently restore delegated authority; explicit approval is needed again. New grant IDs are required after revocation. Library callers use spendAllowanceRequest and payX402({ spendAllowance: grant, ... }) and are responsible for the same explicit owner approval and durable local enablement policy as the MCP host.
