Use Vectali in ChatGPT
Install Vectali from the ChatGPT plugin directory and connect your Vectali account. Attach a logo, icon or illustration, then ask “Turn this image into an SVG.” You get a vector download link in your chat.
Connecting is free. Successful new conversions use your Vectali API credits.
Already downloaded an image from ChatGPT? Use the ChatGPT image to SVG converter for a local browser preview without connecting an agent. A free account includes three lifetime image exports. These browser exports have a separate allowance from the plugin's API credits.
One plan for API and agents
API plans: 500–100,000 monthly credits, from US$19 to US$1,199. MCP and API calls share the same allowance. Connecting is free. Failed conversions and retries of the same completed request do not consume an extra conversion. There are no automatic overages, purchases, or separate agent subscription.
Web Pro and browser export packs cover browser exports. They do not pay for server conversions made by an agent.
Connect an MCP client
- Sign in to Vectali and activate an API plan if you need server conversions.
- Add a remote Streamable HTTP server at
https://api.vectali.com/mcpin your MCP client. For ChatGPT, custom connections require a workspace/account with developer mode access. - Continue through Vectali sign-in and review the requested permissions. Select “Allow access” only for an application you recognize.
- Ask “Turn this uploaded logo into an SVG.” Inspect the downloaded result, particularly small details and gradients.
Three focused tools
convert_imageconverts a supplied PNG or JPEG and consumes one conversion on success.get_conversionretrieves a saved SVG or refreshes a download link without tracing again.get_accountchecks your remaining API allowance without changing your subscription.
Local files in other agents
Install vectali-cli from npm, then configure your agent to run vectali mcp --root /path/to/artwork. Ask it to convert a local image and save an SVG. The adapter handles the file upload; you never paste base64. It uses your API key and existing allowance, and protects files already in the output location.
You control access
Connections use OAuth with explicit permissions. Agents cannot buy plans or change billing. Disconnect an agent at any time. API-key clients can revoke their keys from their account.
Agent downloads are private, signed links that expire after 10 minutes. Anyone holding a link can download its SVG until expiry or deletion, so avoid sharing links unintentionally. Inputs and outputs are saved in your account, just like API conversions.
Know the limits
Inputs must be PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP or WebP, at most 10 MiB, 4,000,000 total pixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Output SVGs are limited to 8 MiB. Complex images may take up to four minutes. Agent requests are limited to 60 per minute and conversion attempts to six per minute per account.
Vectali works best with clear logos, icons and illustrations. It does not recreate the original author’s paths exactly. Inspect lettering, holes, fine outlines and gradients before production use. Our published comparisons show both results and limitations.
