The useapi.net Mureka MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code Copilot make music and speech with Mureka on your own Mureka accounts. It is a hosted Model Context Protocol server with nothing to install: point your client at the URL below and add your useapi.net API token.

It covers the whole Mureka API: songs from a prompt or your lyrics, your own voice as a reusable singer, edits and remixes, stems with MIDI and DAW sessions, sheet music, and speech with cloned voices. Every tool calls the same REST API, so accounts, limits and errors behave exactly as documented there.

Is there a Mureka MCP server? useapi.net hosts a third-party Mureka MCP server at https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp with 40 tools for songs, characters, remixes, stems, sheet music and speech, and it runs on your Mureka web plan, nothing to install.

Endpoint and authorization

https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP.
  • Listed in the official MCP Registry as net.useapi/mureka, so MCP clients and directories that read the registry can find it by that name.
  • Authorization: your useapi.net API token in the Authorization: Bearer … header, see Setup useapi.net.
  • You need at least one Mureka account added with Setup Mureka. Adding and removing accounts is not available over MCP: use POST /accounts.

Setup

Replace YOUR_API_TOKEN with your useapi.net API token.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http useapi-mureka https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN"

Cursor

In ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "useapi-mureka": {
      "url": "https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}

VS Code

In .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "useapi-mureka": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}

Windsurf and other clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with custom headers works. The usual JSON shape:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "useapi-mureka": {
      "serverUrl": "https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}

Some clients name the address field url instead of serverUrl.

Test it with curl

curl -s https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"initialize","params":{"protocolVersion":"2025-06-18","capabilities":{},"clientInfo":{"name":"curl","version":"1"}}}'

curl -s https://api.useapi.net/v1/mureka/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tools/list"}'

The first call answers with the server’s name useapi-mureka and its instructions for the assistant, the second with the 40 tools.

Long-running work

MCP clients usually give up on a tool call after about a minute, so a tool waits up to about 50 seconds:

  • A song, edit or remix usually takes 45 to 90 seconds. If it isn’t done in time, the tool returns the jobid, and mureka_get_job with wait: true picks it up. Ask the assistant to keep checking until it is done.
  • A stem extraction takes about a minute, and speech 20 to 90 seconds, the same way.
  • Sheet music answers in 5 to 20 seconds, plus up to 15 seconds to fetch a YouTube link.

Clients that ask for progress notifications get one about every 10 seconds while a tool waits.

Each song comes back with its song_id and a public mp3 link.

Example prompts

  • “Write lyrics for a song about a lighthouse keeper, then make it as a slow folk ballad on V9.5.”
  • “Upload this voice clip as a singer called Nova, keep it private, and have her sing my lyrics as synthwave.”
  • “Remix my last song as drum and bass.”
  • “Split that song into vocals and instrumental and give me a Logic Pro session.”
  • “Turn this YouTube video into sheet music.”
  • “Read this paragraph aloud with a warm British voice.”
  • “How much Mureka Gold is left on my account?”

Limits and notes

  • The tools use your Mureka accounts and the same rules as the REST API. Most actions use the account’s Mureka Gold: see the pricing on the Mureka API page.
  • Custom connectors on claude.ai need OAuth sign-in, which this server does not support yet. Use Claude Code or another client that can send an Authorization header.
  • A client may send up to 20 JSON-RPC requests in one batch.
  • If the client sends an MCP-Protocol-Version header, it must be one of the supported versions: 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26 or 2024-11-05.
  • Every tool call shows in your usage stats ( bot=mureka) as model mcp, with the tool name as its status, or failed.
